Tenerife is so much more than a sun-worshipping, beach bum's paradise. Calling all food enthusiasts, we've chosen our top 10 Tenerife restaurants to get you hungry for a holiday...    

1. Los Roques, Los Abrigos

“The one for a romantic evening”

2. El Cine, Los Cristianos

“The one that’s great for lunch”

Can get busy but is always worth it. With a famous reputation from the locals & tourists for it’s perfectly cooked seafood it’s a great place to stop for some high quality lunch that won’t break the bank.    

3. Casa Ramon, Garachico

“The blast from the past”

4. Tasca Tierras del Sur, Granadilla

“The one for the best Tapas”

5. Lucas Maes, La Orotava

“The one with a beautiful setting”

In fairness, there are a few we could have selected here. We’ve gone for Lucas Maes, situated in the grounds of old renovated mansion, the outside dining area has gorgeous gardens and beautiful décor throughout. 6. Otelo, Adeje

“The one for a local speciality”

Pollo al ajillo ( Chicken with Garlic ) is definitely a local speciality that should not be overlooked. Experience some proper home cooking that is a hit with the locals.    

7. Kabuki, Abama

“The one with a Michelin Star”

8. M. B. (Martín Berasategui), Abama

The one with TWO Michelin Stars”

When one Michelin Star isn’t quite enough, based in the same Hotel as Kabuki is this gem from the prestigious Basque chef Martin Berasategui. Not cheap, but phenomenal food done with real creative flair. M.B. Tenerife restaurant Picture: movemountainstravel.com    

9. Restaurante La Vieja, La Caleta

“The best for seafood”

10. Tasca la Tata, Santa Cruz de Tenerife

“The vegetarian option” 

It can be tough in Spain sometimes to find a reliable and quality place for vegetarian food, which is why Tasca la Tata is such a great find.
