February may be the shortest month, but the days can feel very drawn out here in the UK. Warm up somewhere sunny this February half-term.

Spend half term in the most family-friendly archipelago around. No matter which Canary Island you choose, you can expect a short-haul paradise chocka with kids activities. We recommend Siam Park in Tenerife, surfing in Lanzarote or an afternoon building sandcastles on one of Fuerteventura's many safe beaches.

2. Jamaica

Average High Temperature in February: 27°

Ja makin' me wanna go to Jamaica. The island is big on winter sunshine and off-peak February is a great time to take it all. It can rain in February, but Jamaican showers at this time of year are seldom and short-lived always giving way to sunny blue skies.

3. Dominican Republic

Average High Temperature in February: 28°

February is a great time to visit the dreamy Dominican Republic as it falls during the dry season. With bad weather on the backburner, you can get back to what matters i.e the picture-perfect beaches! Sounds like the place to whisk your Valentine off to on a romantic break for two this month.

4. Paphos

Average High Temperature in February:  17ºC

Hear us out here. The temperatures may not be as high as its fellow February counterparts, but we reckon Paphos in Cyprus is a great destination for February half term. It's not far from home, boasts hours of daytime sun with milder temperatures in the evening. Stick suncream, jeans and jumpers in the kids' bags and we reckon you'll be good to go.
