Perfection... Every time we arrive at Villa Moderna, we are struck by how perfect this villa is: it is elegant, well-proportioned, uncluttered, but warm and welcoming. The excellent layout makes this villa very welcoming. There is a large and well-equipped kitchen, and a spacious terrace with a full-sized BBQ for convenient outdoor eating. And, if you suffer from jet lag, enjoy a coffee or glass of wine on the terrace that will ease the pain or enjoy the hot tub for relaxation. We enjoyed staying here so much that when we begin planning a trip to Tuscany we start by looking to see when the flat is available and we work around that...

Villa Moderna, the name says it already, very modern furnished. My family and I stayed in this wonderful villa that is featured with a lot of todays luxury. Every room in the villa gave us a home feeling which was really appreciated by even the minors. The kids enjoyed the loft area that was all to themselves. The view from the balcony is fantastic, especially during sunrise and sunset. The large yard with the pool and BBQ gave us all the space we needed to re-live old time yardplays and we had the time of our life. The money we spend in the local restaurants was worthen; for they have excellent food. An early morning or late evening walk refills you with enough energy. All

Stayed in this lovely away from it all area last year House is just so rural and yet everything u need is provided Very hot spell when we there so some sort of electric fan for bedroom would have been good but rest of house very cool Please be aware it’s very much off the beaten track and you need a car full stop The 3km journey up the hill is shall we say interesting but not impossible and is made up for by the beautiful views and isolation Will be back for a chill next year for sure

This is a great location (down a track from the SP50 road) and is generally quiet apart from obvious agricultural activity in the vineyards. The property is 3 bedrooms but note that one of them (the twin) is the thoroughfare from one side of the house to the other. The house is effectively two apartments linked together. You can access each separately from the outside if needed. There are two bathrooms (the third is under the house in the utility area). The property has everything you’d need for your stay. Nearest supermarket is the Coop (huge) in Certaldo. The pizzeria a couple of km from the house is excellent, but go early as it is very popular with locals later on. Visit the Certaldo old town it’s really attractive. It’s a short walk up the hill from the main square or use the funicular if it’s open. Street parking in town is very cheap.

Find a villa in Tuscany

A Tuscany villa holiday offers the ultimate Italian experience in one of the country’s most beautiful regions and the perfect destination for foodies, who will be spoiled for choice with its inexpensive and rustic Italian cuisine such as Tuscan ham, ripe tomatoes, freshly pressed olive oil, white truffles, and famous wines like Chianti and the sweet wine Vin Santo.

Romantic Florence, the capital of the region, is the birthplace of the Renaissance and some of the world’s most celebrated art can be found here; Michelangelo’s David, and the Uffizi Gallery with Botticelli’s Birth of Venus and work by Leonardo da Vinci. Ancient towns such as Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Arezzo also make for stunning holiday locations, the surrounding picture postcard landscapes complementing their frescoed churches, historical piazzas and terracotta roof tiles aglow in the sunset. Whether based near the beach, the mountains, or vineyard-carpeted hillsides, our villas in Tuscany make the perfect setting from which to explore this glorious province.

Natalie from the popular baking blog Hello Cuppies is no stranger to the Italian lifestyle. She took a break to the dazzlingly beautiful island of Sicily, but now she has opted for a more rural escape and took to the rolling hills of Tuscany. The commune of Altopascio in the province of Lucca offers a highly desirable getaway, with striking scenery and a cultural history dating as far back as the ancient Romans. In fact, it gained popularity because of the hostel Spedale where pilgrims stayed, who travelled on the Via Francigena, a pilgrimage starting in the English cathedral city and leading to Rome.
