Kefalonia is a place that once visited is never forgotten which is what happened to us about 20 years ago! After that I set about finding and building our dream home on the island We now welcome a few guests each year to enjoy our home and the island and as visitor numbers are limited, we like to think the villa now is as nice as it was when we first built it.

We live next door to Ataraxia so we will always be on hand if you need help, and we will be delighted to share a cup or glass of something with you whenever you wish. We will also respect and conserve your privacy and independence if you do not wish to be disturbed. We have a very small farm with chickens, donkeys, a horse, and also a few pigs and sheep depending on the time of year. We grow all of our own produce, and try to be as self-sufficient as possible. We will gladly show you everything, and also provide you with fresh vegetables from the garden whenever possible. Andre and I have been living here in Saravari for 10 years now. We both had long careers in the hotel and restaurant business in France and Switzerland before semi-retiring to this wonderful peaceful island that we first visited for a holiday back in 1996.

Creating this house was a personal dream for us, which we made a reality through a great deal of personal effort, imagination, and love for this place. Our intention was to create a warm and welcoming space for rest, relaxation, and tranquility, where every guest can enjoy the authentic beauty of Crete and truly feel at home. The house is located in a quiet area, just a few minutes from the seaside, ideal both for moments of tranquility and for exploring western Crete. Maleme is a place of great historical significance, known for its role in the "Battle of Crete" during World War II, while today it is famous for its beautiful beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and authentic Cretan atmosphere. From here, you can easily explore Chania Old Town and Venetian Harbor, Platanias, the famous Samaria Gorge, Elafonisi, Falassarna and many other unique destinations in western Crete. After many years of visiting Santorini, I moved from the Netherlands to Greece in 2016 and began welcoming guests to Erossea in beautiful Imerovigli. I have always felt deeply connected to this special part of the island and enjoy helping guests experience Santorini in a personal and memorable way.

We are both from the UK and have owned Villa Irene for 11 years. We love it for it's breath taking views. Each sunrise and sunset holds a different light or colours and we never get tired of gazing out. We love the pool too, it's just perfect the perfect size for swimming and cooling down. From the magnificent Aegean views and peaceful surroundings to the little touches like our welcome pack, it means so much to know guests feel instantly relaxed, cared for, and truly able to switch off here.
