In 2005 we bought 5 acres of land near the coast by Almyrida in north west Crete Greece (Chania province) and built 4 holiday villa, each with 4 bedrooms and each with a private swimming pool. We price by occupancy to make it cost effective for couples/three/four people and well as larger groups of family and friends. Each house sleeps a maximum of eight.

Hello, I'm Matthew, owner of the Villa Tranquilla in Chania. My passion is to help my guests have a memorable stay in our villa and live their dreamful moments in our beloved city. Meeting and socializing with people from all over the world has been an unbelievable trip so far and I'm sure there are alot more to come. Mediterranean dishes are my favorite and especially the traditional Cretan ones.

Petina's House is our second home in Western Crete and since discovering the relaxing and friendly environment of Almyrida and the surrounding area on holiday in 2004, we purchased our apartment in 2008, hoping to encourage as many people as possible to share our enjoyment of this idyllic place.

Twenty years ago, we finally released our dream and myself, Ian, Jeannie my wife and our two girls set off from England for our new life on the warm and sunny island of Crete. We had already purchased a plot of land with a house and one acre of orchard, delicious navel oranges. It took over a year to overcome the paperwork and legalities connected with our purchase but then we were able to start our huge project. The gardens and villas slowly took shape, each year bringing exciting changes as the trees and plants matured. The result is now three villas set in beautiful gardens. Having been to Greece on previous occasions we wanted to make the accommodation spacious. A large bathroom was a must and raised sun terraces were top priority. We wanted to create individual privacy without being isolated and a pool that you could really swim in, We are very fortunate that we are only a short distance from Chania, the principal town, and we also determined be affordably priced, a place for people to relax. We aim to create integrity and customer care. We are here, on site, for the duration of your stay to make sure everything runs smoothly for you.

Welcome to our beautiful house in Maleme, Chania. Creating this house was a personal dream for us, which we made a reality through a great deal of personal effort, imagination, and love for this place. Our intention was to create a warm and welcoming space for rest, relaxation, and tranquility, where every guest can enjoy the authentic beauty of Crete and truly feel at home. The house is located in a quiet area, just a few minutes from the seaside, ideal both for moments of tranquility and for exploring western Crete. Maleme is a place of great historical significance, known for its role in the "Battle of Crete" during World War II, while today it is famous for its beautiful beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and authentic Cretan atmosphere. From here, you can easily explore Chania Old Town and Venetian Harbor, Platanias, the famous Samaria Gorge, Elafonisi, Falassarna and many other unique destinations in western Crete. Love the peace and quiet of the countryside with beautiful scenery ,the long lazy hot summer days and balmy nights -these are so relaxing. Long unhurried lunches at tavernas enjoying the company of family and friends to savor and enjoy the wonderful fresh Cretan food. The houses were built when we first arrived as there were none to buy so we chose a quiet country location surrounded by olive groves. This is just the place to be - away from the hustle and bustle of the coast but with amenities close by! Peaceful and thoroughly relaxing situation set amongst the olive groves and only 8 minutes walk to the village, No noise except the occasional car passing by and ciccadas in summer.
