The rural town of Felanitx in the south east of Majorca is well known for its vineyards and wine production. The town is also known for its capers and local pottery – both of which you can buy on the Sunday morning market. The town's main square gets very busy during weekends when the local products are on sale.
Felanitx’s main attractions include the Sanctuary de Sant Salvador and Santueri Castle. Sanctuary de Sant Salvador is Majorca’s second most important place of pilgrimage and is at the top of a 500m high hill overlooking the town. The nearby Santueri Castle is built on top of some cliffs which are 400m above sea level.
There is plenty to do near Felanitx including golf at the nearby 18-hole Vall d’Or golf course and of course the wonderful beaches in Portocolom and Cala Marcal.
