Orlando is often hailed as the theme park capitol of the world and with well over 30 parks of various sorts, it’s easy to see why. As such, it makes for a great holiday destination for you and your family of all ages, especially if water slides, roller coasters and Disney jaunts are your thing.  Some favourite theme parks you should definitely visit include Legoland, Walt Disney World and Busch Gardens.

The Beaches Are Close By & Great

A holiday isn’t a holiday without a few beachy days and it’s a great and budget-friendly way to keep the whole family entertained. Thankfully, there’s some great beaches only an hour away and a few even closer too. Some of the most popular beaches that are family-favourites include the lovely Cocoa Beach, the excellently located Daytona Beach and the quiet but pretty New Smyrna Beach.

The Weather Is Fantastic

The weather in Orlando is renowned for being fantastic for most of the year, with April through to November being able to reach fabulously high temperatures. From May to September you’re likely to enjoy the best of the weather, with highs of up to 32°C and the coldest times to visit would be January and February. Also bear in mind that July can also be the wettest time of the year.

Orlando has so much to do that you can easily spend lots of money, but the happy news is, you really don’t have to. There are plenty of activities and attractions that are not only budget-friendly, but some are even totally free! Some that we highly recommend include:

  • See Disney’s Boardwalk live street musicians- Free!
  • Visit Tibet Butler Preserve for wildlife and walks -Free!
  • See mermaids at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park- $13 for adults and $8 for kids ages 6-12. Kids 5 and below get in for free.
  • See alligators in Oviedo with Black Hammock Adventures-Free!
  • Take a stroll down the historic Church Street-Free!
  • Orlando Fringe is great for music, theatre and dance-From $12 but there’s also free shows!

This is just the tip of the iceberg though, you’ll find that there’s also museums, biking trails, shows, food experiences and much more, for either very little money or no money at all!
