Hire a boat from Castellammare del Golfo port:

Around €100 a day you get to pull in and access some amazing beaches and views independently. A lovely alternative to driving or using public transport.

Castellammare del Golfo

Visit the town of San Vito Lo Capo and stay for sunset:

It’s beautiful and the beach is one of the nicest in Sicily. The town comes to life in an evening and is extremely family-friendly.

Visit Tempio di Segesta:

Quieter than some of the other tourist attractions in Sicily and easier to get to.  It's raised high in the hills so the views are amazing

Buy lots of fruit and veg from the little market stalls in towns and occasionally at the side of the road:

They taste so good, are extremely fresh and cook perfectly on that BBQ ;-)

Scala Dei Turchi:

Hugely unique and not something you can see anywhere else.  Pure white limestone and a beautiful warm relaxing sea. Go early to beat the crowds.

Hire a car:

We were a little bit wary but it's an amazing way to get around and you get to visit places and admire the views you'd not normally be able to. Plus, experiencing the Sicilian way of driving is lots of fun!
