Apartments in Villajoyosa

Known to the locals as 'La Vila', the colourful coastal town of Villajoyosa, which translates to 'joyful village', is located in the province of Alicante, north of the Costa Blanca, with the river Amadorio running straight through the centre. The perfect base to explore the rest of what the Costa Blanca has to offer, it neighbours the holiday resorts of Elche, Denia, Altea, Calpe and Benidorm. From the colourful houses used by fisherman to find their way home, to the backdrop of mountains and palm-lined coast, Villajoyosa is a postcard destination for families. With over 3km of coastline, there are four main beaches; La Platja Centre (Central beach), El Paradis, Exarco which is a pebble beach and Torres beach, which is the perfect spot to watch the sun set. A marina and beachfront promenade runs parallel to the colourful seafront buildings, where diners can enjoy an ambient alfresco meal as they watch the surface of the water glow in the evenings. As a region famous for its chocolate, kids will love Valor Chocolate Museum, where they can learn about the famous local cohocolate brands Perez and Clavileno. For a change of scenery, take a short boat trip to Tabarca Island, where snorkeling is a must for experiencing the diverse local marine life. The metropolitan city of Alicante is just 35 minutes away by car, perfect for a cultural day out.
