Calahonda is a small resort town in Mijas district, 30 minutes from Malaga airport. Set between Marbella and Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol coast, it is blessed with a beautiful Mediterranean climate, a wild rugged landscape and postcard-perfect coastal views. Calahonda is a firm favourite with families, couples, retirees and golfers. Our apartments rentals in Calahonda give you easy access to the town’s facilities and the resort’s main attractions; neighbouring Puerto Cabopino is renowned for being the most secluded and picturesque port on the Costa Del Sol and is popular with those who want to enjoy some peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Its golden sand beaches are bordered by stunning sand dunes and lush pine forests. Travel a little further to the northeast and you’ll reach Mijas town, Andalucia’s famous white village, nestled in the hillside. For sport fans, Miraflores golf resort is only 45 minutes away and there are two diving centres within easy reach of the beach. There are also a number of beaches boasting an array of water sports. Venture to the peak of the Calahonda hills for stunning panoramic views of the Costa del Sol’s coast, with Africa and Gibraltar in the distance.

Calahonda’s palm-lined golden sand beach is one of the town’s main attractions, catering to family holidays. But there is a lot more to Calahonda if you look beyond the beautiful coast. Although a modern resort town, remnants of Calahonda’s past can be seen in the Moorish architecture, particularly the ancient watch towers dotted along the coastline, with its rocky cliffs perfect for diving and snorkelling. The livelier resorts of Fuengirola and Marbella are just 15 minutes away in either direction, boasting atmospheric beaches with plenty of modern leisure facilities.
