A bright interior of cheerful colours and light-filled rooms provided us with a warm welcome as we stepped inside this stylish southern Spanish home and left us in no doubt that Casa Tomodoro would soon become a firm favourite with guests. Enviably located in the lakeside neighbourhood of El Santiscal, just a 900m stroll from the sandy shoreline and water sports of the lake and only 4km from the atmospheric hilltop town of Arcos de la Frontera, its contemporary interior and enticing outdoor spaces are ideally located to enjoy the culture of one of Andalucía’s most treasured ‘pueblos blancos’ and the fun-filled activities of the lake.
Promising many hours of family fun just a short stroll from the house, surfing, paddleboarding and windsurfing are just some of the activities that can be enjoyed on the lake. For those preferring something more relaxing, the golden sands of the lakeside beach will no doubt beckon for a spot of sunbathing or lounging with a book whilst the four waterfront restaurants are sure to tempt with their mouth-watering menus of local cuisine.

Widely regarded as being the home of one of Andalucía’s most beautiful historic centres, the dazzling white facades, flower-filled balconies and ancient streets of Arcos de la Frontera wind their way uphill to the old town centre in a picturesque labyrinth, oozing history and charm. From the top, broad views stretch ahead across the river valley below, and being just 4km from the house this cultural gem is within easy reach.

When enjoying days at home by the pool, the carefully designed layout of the house and garden facilitates that all-important ease of movement between indoor and outdoor spaces. In the open-plan living area patio doors open onto a covered dining terrace alongside the table and chairs of the kitchen to offer flexible dining and plenty of space for sociable meals. Looking out across the lawned garden to the pool, this area is also perfectly positioned for supervising activities in the pool.
