The beach at La Cala seems to stretch forever and has a boardwalk all the way into Cabopino so you can stroll along the beach and stop off at the many chiringitos on the way for a cooling drink.
There are frequent bus services to Marbella and Fuengirola and from there you can connect to Malaga, Seville and Madrid.
The village of La Cala is very popular but retains its charm, you can still see the fishing boats on the beach and then mingle with the locals in the bars and restaurants. There is a market every Wednesday and Saturday where you can buy clothes, ceramics, fruit and veg and many other things.
