We have just returned from a wonderful two week stay at Villa Portakal - 2 adults and 3 kids (14,12 & 7). The villa is of a really high standard with beautiful, eclectic furnishings and everything you need for your holiday. The bed in the master bedroom is one of the comfiest I've ever slept on which doesn't sound that important but it really does make such a difference to the whole holiday when you get a good nights' sleep - for the first time ever I wasn't craving my own bed. The only reason I've marked down the cleanliness is because the showers could do with a (little) bit of a regrout but that's really all, the rest of it was immaculate. The pool is beautiful, a bit on the small side but that's only because we've got two strapping lads who seemed to occupy the entire space. The local area is really nice, we ate out in some fabulous restaurants in both Ovacik and Olu Deniz - incredible food and really friendly staff. We really didn't like Hisaronu and its neon light, mass tourist feel, it's just not us but it's very easily avoided. We didn't hire a car and didn't feel we needed to. Taxis were cheap and super efficient and we could walk into Ovacik in under 15 minutes. The local Ces shop was great for the basics - water, wine, beer, crisps, bread etc and they delivered everything to the door for free. When we needed fresh food we walked to town and got a taxi back (less than £5). The views from the villa are simply stunning, the sunset in the evening was breathtaking. There is a lovely breeze around the pool/patio that means you can sit out in the sun all day if you wish. The only downside is there really is no shade in the afternoon. There is a very large umbrella but it kept falling down in the breeze so wasn't usable but it didn't really matter, if you got hot you dipped back in the pool or sat in the large, cool lounge for a while. The maintenance team were called on a couple of times and they were brilliant, arriving a matter of minutes after we called them in most cases. Debra the owner was fantastic to deal with. Really prompt with her replies and and answered all our questions in full and without any issue, it never appeared to be any trouble - and we asked her a lot!! I would highly recommend Villa Portakal, it was a truly memorable holiday for us.

We stayed at this Villa for 2 weeks in August 2015 and we were not disappointed. Everything about this villa oozes quality, from the fixtures and fittings to the extremely comfortable beds, no expense has been spared. We arranged our transfer after a recommendation from Debra (Owner) and it was effortless. The Villa is in a great location and you get a bit of a breeze from the mountain which makes lying in the sun a bit easier. You can easily walk onto the Ovacik "strip" or carry on down into Hisaronu but if required, there is a taxi call button just outside the villa. We have enjoyed Villa holidays for many years but this was by far the best we have ever stayed in. Villa Portakal is a wonderfully appointed property and exceeded our expectations it has been furnished to a very high standard in every room. We had a thoroughly relaxing week by the pool and on the super comfortable quality sun loungers - a small point but it makes a big difference. Debra, the owner, was easy to deal with and communication was a pleasure. All in all one of the best villas weve stayed in and one that would be hard pressed to beat for value and luxury at the price point. Grahame & Julie
