Rent from owners direct in South of France

We have owned this three bedroom apartment in Cannes for nearly ten years. Our favourite thing about the apartment is its location in the centre of Cannes, but still only a five minute walk to the beach and to La Croisette. I first visited Cannes in my early teens with my parents and have always been attracted to the city.

There have been many refurbishments since we bought Chateau de Lamostonie in 2007. For example, each double bedroom has been furnished with an en-suite bathroom, the entrance hall has been opened up, and the old wooden staircase replaced with majestic stone. Located between the river Dordogne (to the North) and Lot (to the South) Chateau de Lamostonie offers many sightseeing opportunities, such as Rocamadour, Sarlat, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, the pont Valentre at Cahors, and some spectacular caves with underground rivers and prehistoric paintings. The tennis court, swimming pool and barbecue, however, keep us from wanting to be anywhere else during the summer months. We hope you will enjoy being at Lamostonie as much as we do.

Elly and I are a married couple who met many years ago travelling through Vietnam when Vietnam was not yet opened to the world. We fell in love and Steve moved from Australia to Amsterdam. After several years we moved back to Australia and for a time lived between Melbourne and Roussillon. We love travel, adventures and animals. We also run a small tour company in France, plus we own a small Brocante. Elly speaks several languages, Steve, well working on that, a bit of Dutch and French!

We bought the house in 2005 after renting it from the previous owners for many years. About 25 years ago we rented for the first time in Valbonne and instantly fell in love with the house, the space, the beautiful view from the terrace, the charming village of Valbonne and the tranquility of Domaine Val d’Azur. In 2005 (we had rented the house now or 5 times) we were called by the previous owners that they wanted to sell the villa. After the shock about this came the idea to buy the house, after all, such a beautiful house in such a beautiful location does not pass by quickly and we knew the house through and through. We are very careful with our property and hope that you will also enjoy our home just as we have always done. We moved to the Ariege in 2016 after many years of teaching in the UK. The natural beauty of the region was what first attracted us - there is so much variety with the Pyrenees close by whilst still being easily accessible for Toulouse, Carcassonne and the Mediterranean coast. We love the peaceful nature of our grounds which are full of birdsong and wildlife. It is a great place to relax and unwind and still close enough to local shops, bars and restaurants.
