Together with Gerard, a theatre enthusiast, and myself, a lover of singing, we aimed to create an ideal place that encourages meetings, creativity, and introspection. After a year of searching, we stumbled upon the house of Aum. It was an immediate crush, as if all the elements had aligned to lead us to this place. It's not surprising that our guests are also amazed by the beauty and richness of nature upon their arrival. We decided to keep the original name, La Maison d'Aum, as it evokes sound, serenity, and singing—elements that resonate with our own passions and the calmness of the place. If you also dream of finding a little piece of paradise far from the hustle and bustle of the city, you are welcome at our place. La Maison d'Aum is an enchanting place that invites you to relax, reconnect with yourself, and enjoy the beauty of nature.

We are Bas and Marieke van Osta. In 2004 we moved with our then still young family from the Netherlands to France. In the meantime our children have left the nest and we decided to sell the campsite after 17 years of being the campsite owner. This transfer took place in September 2021, so that we could ‘push’ ourselves on our next adventure. After we settled in our new house in Lamothe-Montravel in the Dordogne we had the opportunity to buy the adjacent gites from our new neighbors. We obviously didn’t want to let this opportunity pass. We are really looking forward to this new challenge and look forward to welcoming you in this beautiful and unique place in France. You can book our Gîtes all year long!

I am Diane and I live in a thirteenth century Manor house with my beautiful, affectionate and friendly border collie, Florette. I am originally from the North-West of England, but I’ve been living and working in various countries and in France since 2000. After seven years of giving English lessons to students at the University of La Rochelle, I decided that my heart belonged to the French countryside, and so began my long search for a traditional French house with character, history and charm. I finally moved to Carlucet in 2007. I have been very lucky to have lived and worked in some stunning places around the world, including Canada, the USA, Australia and the Republic of Ireland, and my aim has always been to restore an old house, using its history to renovate with the utmost integrity. To this end I have sourced and used only traditional materials, local artisans whenever possible and my knowledge and love of historical buildings gained from my Bachelor of Arts studies in Art History. I am now the proud owner of a fully-restored thirteenth century Manoir, complete with original medieval beams, original stone walls created using wattle and daub, enormous fire-places and a vaulted cellar with arrow slits (narrow vertical apertures) where archers once launched arrows during the Hundred Years War.

We are now in our 25th season of lettings. Over the years we have welcomed literally hundreds of families from all over the world to our peaceful little nook in the Dordogne. There is plenty to do for all the family from swimming in our large pool on site, outdoor badminton, table tennis and ball games and within a short distance there are three swimming and activity lakes (15-30 mins) away. Canoeing at Brantome, The “Venice” of the Perigord is about 25 mins away. There are caves at Villar (15mins). The area is ideal for cycling and there is a horse riding centre within 10 mins. Our three local villages all have bakers small shops and good restaurants. As we are resident in England and have a restricted time in France and we are both “getting on a bit” we are only letting two of our four cottages, which means less people sharing the pool.

My Husband Elias and I have taken over the management of our family home La Rotonde in the Sout-West of France. We're fond of nature, travelling, indigenous knowledge, wood creations and everything that involves growing plants. So we're planting also in La Rotonde to create an abondant and beautiful outside area around the house, a herb and berry garden and a great vegetable garden that allows tenants to have fresh food in the summer! Bit by bit, we aim to transform this beautiful family domain in a haven of biodiversity. Inside, we're updating the interior, using wood (of course) and studying the possibility to integrate solar panels and other more energy-saving into the house. We have two beautiful and lively boys. We love to explore new places together and see whether the Greek gods really live up the Olympus!

We’re Vincent and Paul, a Dutch and English couple that had a chance meeting in Sydney Australia many years ago. We decided on our 25th anniversary together to up-sticks from The Netherlands and move to The Dordogne, because this region of France is not only stunningly beautiful and full to the brim with nature, but has outstanding food, wine, culture and history. When we first walked along the tree lined entrance, we realised how special the estate was and how amazing it could become, and we wanted to instantly share it. Every little detail about Vive le Vert has been made with friends, love, warmth and honesty so together with all the nature, peace and tranquility it offers, we hope you’re just as thrilled as we are about our holiday haven. When we drove up the long drive to Le Mas for the first time, we realized how special the place was and how amazing it could become. We love its history, character and charm and the beautiful countryside all around it, with all the wildlife, peace and tranquility it offers. This part of France is not only beautiful, but has exemplary food and wine, culture and history. We have converted a tobacco drying barn on the property into our own home and renovated Le Mas & Le Mazet, and are very proud of how beautiful and comfortable they have become. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Hi, i'm Jenette, i have hosted my Cottage for 11 years, i love meeting new guests as well as welcoming back returning guests. The property is very easy to find and in a quiet location, in an area with some of the most beautiful villages in France with markets on every day in the surrounding area as well as superb restaurants using incredible local produce.
