Couple from Wakefield, United Kingdom October 2018

This is a lovely little villa just out of the centre of Puerto del Carmen - takes 10 mins to walk to the main road along the front. It is very well equipped with lots of cups, plates, dishes, spare towels etc. Although not mentioned in the details for the villa there is a dishwasher and washer - this would have been useful to know!! The TV only has Spanish channels, a few English channels would be nice for English/Irish visitors. We had one big problem, having travelled through the night and got a taxi from the airport, feeling very tired - the villa is not called Tirasu!!! and there is no number 1 outside. Luckily our taxi driver rang the owners to check we were at the right villa. It would be helpful when giving the details of how to access to villa, if they had said that the villa is marketed as Tirasu but known as Villa Theresa!! The pictures of the villa also do not now reflect the villa - the lounge has been updated and the balcony has been filled in to create a small bedroom - it needs new pictures to be reflect these changes. One last comment - the swimming pool was not maintained during our 9 day stay. We have stayed in lots of villas in Lanzarote and pool maintenance is usually carried out every 2-3 days, consequently the bottom of the pool looked grim, with slit needing to be vaccumed out. I do not wish to finish on a negative, as we enjoyed our stay in villa Tirsasu (or villa Theresa)

House very well located. Beautiful view of the coast and Fuerteventura. Functional house as a whole. On the other hand, some small imperfections: - some planing doors on the underside. - no shower - some blinds on windows that do not work anymore (some have been tinkered with the "go fast"). - Rusty lock of the barrier of the carpark home (impossible to slide ...). - Kitchen hood that does not work anymore. - no direct contact with the owner (keys in a trunk on the house parking on arrival), which could explain the various unsolved problems (no inventory !!!).

Location above Tias, overlooking the mountains, the sea and Fuerteventura. Rooms big and clean! 2 times a week someone comes and exchanges the towels and cleans the house, great! Review: shower curtain in the 2nd bathroom was missing, no upholstery for the garden furniture and the clothes rack was rusted! Nevertheless we would go back here !!

About Tías

Villas for rent in Tías

Tías is a town and district in the central south of Lanzarote, nestled between Yaiza district in the south and San Bartolóme in the north. Less than a 10 minute drive from Lanzarote Airport, Tías district is comprised of a number of scattered hamlets such as Masdache, Conil, La Asomada, Tegoyo and Macher, including Tías town itself. Discover a region of contrasts, from the peace and tranquility of its villages, to the upbeat feel of commercial resort Puerto del Carmen, on the south east coast, and the upscale town of Puerto Calero with its luxury shops and marina.

Stay in one of our villas in Tías and wander the old town's cobbled streets, taking in the authentic atmosphere as you walk by its elegant houses, old churches and quaint squares. As the island's most famous resort, Puerto del Carmen is the main destination for sun-worshippers and party goers, boasting lively beaches and a large cluster of bars, pubs and nightclubs. For adventurous types, Tias' beautiful landscape is perfect for swimming, cycling and running, with bike hire shops along Puerto del Carmen's promenade. Practice your swing at Lanzarote Golf, a new course just outside the resort. For a change of scene, try horse riding at Rancho Texas Lanzarote Park, on the coast, where kids can make a splash in its water pools and slides after watching the animal shows.

If sun and sea are your cup of tea, then the 6km stretch of golden sand beaches, washed by the sparkling Atlantic, should be enough to tempt you. There are three pristine beaches in Puerto del Carmen, where the family-friendly waters along the coast here are considered to be some of the most tranquil in the whole of the Canary Islands.

A beginner's guide to renting a villa in Tías

Tías is one of the oldest and most important towns on the island, standing out as an almost perfect mirror image of Lanzarote’s own history and development over the last few hundred years. Boasting a beautiful sun-drenched coastline sprinkled with pretty sandy beaches and colourful whitewashed villages housing traditional historic buildings, Tías offers a perfect mix of authentic Canarian coastal village life and modern city living.

The best way to get to know the old town is to wander around its cobbled old streets crowded with ancient relics such as the pretty 16th century Church of Candelaria and the 19th century San Antonio church. As an important cultural centre in Lanzarote, Tías is home to the local Municipal Theatre, where you can enjoy traditional folklore performances to modern jazz concerts. Learn about the life of Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago, at Jose Saramago House Museum with a library, garden and art gallery.

As the island's most famous resort, the bustling Puerto del Carmen on Lanzarote's south east coast is the perfect blend of traditional and modern, boasting all the facilities and attractions one would wish for in a beach holiday. Discover an abundance of shops and restaurants, the charming old harbour and even a casino on Avenida de las Playas' beach promenade, the beating heart of Tias' nightlife, with its countless outdoor cafes, pubs and nightclubs. Puerto del Carmen is also home to a large number of dive centres and scuba diving is one of the most popular sports here, with perfect sea conditions.

Puerto del Carmen is renowned for its 6km stretch of golden sandy beaches with the two of them flying the Blue Flag. The main beach, running along Avenida de las Playas promenade, is Playa Grande; otherwise known as Matagorda, with its sun loungers, umbrellas and gently curving shoreline ideal for a fun day out with family. Take a 10 minute walk and you'll come to the quieter and more secluded Playa Chica in the Old Town, which is popular with snorkelers and scuba divers. To the east is Los Pocillos beach with plenty of holiday facilities and calm waters, located near Rancho Texas Park.
