We have just returned from a brilliant holiday at Casa Escondida . Of course wed read all the great reviews, but even then we were still amazed at just how lovely it was ! The views down the valley to the sea are fantastic and they never failed to take our breath away. It was so quiet and peaceful, just the sounds of the crickets and the odd cock crowing made for a uniquely relaxing holiday. Stuart the key holder met us promptly and guided us up the track, which was definitely nowhere near as daunting as mentioned in some reviews. We managed it in the dark after a nice meal out in Iznate. Everything you might need is available, and the villa is nicely furnished inside and out. I loved the hammock! We stayed with our 2 daughters aged 11 and 5 and they both loved there time here too, the pool was just the right size for the four of us. They were thrilled to find some games and also have some english kids channels too ! We spent most of our time enjoying the villa, but we also enjoyed a couple of days at Torre Del Mar and also Nerja beaches. We took the children to the waterpark down the cost in Mijas Costa, as it offered more for our youngest it only took 45mins and it was a great day out. If your thinking about booking this villa for your next holiday, dont hesitate - Youll love it !

We stayed at the Villa in June 2013. It was very easy to find by car and only a short drive from the motorway. The villa is quite private and has lovely views to the sea. We enjoyed our stay at the villa and the owners of the villa have made sure that everything that you should need during your stay is available. The pool was very clean as was the villa. We would definitely book the villa again and would highly recommend it to others. Ian, Heather & Ellie.

This is a truly remarkable property. A spacious villa with a real cottage feel. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The location really makes the property, stunning views from the pool area. We cooked on the BBQ every night and sat out till the early hours. Its away from the hustle and bustle of the busier towns, but only a 20 minute drive to the likes of Nerja. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We had a brilliant holiday.

The property was amazing. Absolutely beautiful. So much was thoughtfully provided from towels to bread and milk and even beer and wine. This place was unbelievable. However, the location was far more remote than we thought and the road there a little perilous and therefore we are sad that we wont go back. If you want a holiday where you can just relax, be with the person/people you are with and not really go out at night - go. Its fabulous for that. Really beautiful, really private and so very very relaxing.

The description of the villa and its location do not give it justice. The views form the villa and pool are stunning - the villa is nestled in the hillside looking out over a peaceful valley with views out to the sea. In the evening with a glass of wine in our hands we could watch dusk approach and the stars appear. The villa is well cared for and has everything you could possibly wish for. The bedrooms are airy and comfortable. The kitchen well equiped. The children loved the ipod player and sky TV. We visited pretty white washed villages and explored the local beaches. But infact we spent most of our holiday at the villa enjoying the peace

Beautiful property with the most fantastic views imaginable. The location was excellent only 15 mins from beach and 30 mins from nerja! The villa was like a home from home with all the amenities that you could need! Our 3 year old daughter loved the pool and the fact there was cartoon channel on tv!! Villa is at top of mountain so drive is steep but by no means is it as hair raising as some of the other reviews make it sound and it is well worth the drive for the peaceful, idyllic setting with stunning views!! We would highly recommend property and we are going to rebook for next year!!! Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

We very much enjoyed our stay here. Everything that we needed was there and we were made to feel welcome by the owner prior to our visit and the handover people while we were there. As we were staying during October when it is cooler, we appreciated the comfy sofa for after dinner as we moved inside - so many holiday homes assume you will be outside the whole time.

This property is just fantastic. There is everything you need to make a relaxing holiday. The pool was fabulous and the children spent most of their time in it as did we. It really did feel like home for the 10 days we spent there and it was a real wrench to leave. Yes, the road to the property is daunting but we got over it! A perfect place to go to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life.

The most perfectly beautiful place to just stop. The villa is really secluded and the trip to it is a bit daunting at first but so worth it! You are literally on the top of a mountain, miles away from anywhere with views down to the sea. We spent the entire week holed up just watching the world go by. Thats not to say theres nothing else to do but with the weather, the pool and a fabulously equipped villa you dont have to go anywhere. The owners have ensured that everything you could possibly think of is catered for which means that about an hour after you arrive you really can pretend youve always lived there. We have been on other villa holidays and have visited the more rural parts of spain previuously and we felt that this encompassed all the very best of those experiences. As you can probably tell we cant say enough good things and really didnt want to come home - already planning our next trip!

At first we were a little concerned, met by Stuart we followed him in our car climbing further and further up a mountain and then turned onto a little track. The track has recently been made up but is still very narrow with steep dro ps either side, however our concerns were forgotten when we arrived at Casa Escondida. Its lovely and perfect for a relaxing holiday where you can forget it all but still be within easy reach of beaches, walks and a towns. We went from the 8th-15th of October and the weather was fantastic too, didnt really dro p below 27 degrees for the whole time. Four of us went and we were very comfortable in the two bedrooms. Highly recommended, thank you!!

Lovely peaceful villa with easy access to Supermarkets and facilities. Grounds and pool were lovely and the villa very comfy with every thing you could wish for supplied. Even down to an odds and ends draw! Stuart who looked after the property was brilliant with lots of information about the local area. We even got a smile from the goat man who moved his goats over so that we could pass on the track. Was every thing advertised and more. We will definately return.

If you want a private away from it all villa with spectacular views, for a reasonable price then Casa Escondida (hidden house) is the villa for you, it was a pleasure to be amongst the olive groves, vines and Spanish farmers having said that it is only a 15 minute drive back to reality, My family and I really enjoyed our stay here, the villa was comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed both indoors and outdoors and conveniently positioned for access up and down the coast, however I will admit the drive up the cement road was a little daunting at first especially if you come across a man going the opposite way on a horse but over the couple of weeks we got used to it , we found it particularly amusing that the Spanish drivers never acknowledged or looked at us even when we gave way for them. The information pack we were e-mailed was very useful and the local manager Stuart who visited us a few times was friendly and helpful, if we had needed him he was just a phone call away. The supermarkets werent far away and the local bars/restaurants in Iznate were good, All in all we had a great time

This lovely property is approx 40 min drive from the airport and approx 10 min drive from the motorway. The road to the house has recently been widened in places and reconstructed and considering it is a rural road access is easy. The location is wonderful amongst the grape vines and olive trees and the view down the valley and across to the sea couldn’t be better. We felt that we had the best of both worlds a quiet, picturesque location with easy access to the seaside and other tourist attractions. The property is a nicely decorated in tradition Spanish style but with all the mod cons you need. The kitchen in particular is very well equipped with every utensil you could ever need. Bedrooms are spacious each equipped with a hairdryer, there are also plenty of 3 pin plug adapters throughout the property. The DVD player is incorporated in the TV which has the usual English channels if you feel you need to keep up to date with Eastenders! There are lots of books, DVD’s and some games if you don’t want to take your own. Externally the property is surrounded by nice plants and is very private, there is a large area for BBQ’s a shaded area outside the front of the property and of course most importantly the swimming pool which also has a shaded area. For me this was a great treat to have a nice reasonably sized pool all to myself and as the weather was a extremely good during our stay this is where you usually found me. You will find quite a lot of harmless wildlife around the house and if you enjoy bird spotting you are in for a treat. All in all this is a very homely and welcoming property with the best of both worlds, the welcome pack of milk, bread, spread cold ham, beer and wine was a very nice touch especially as we arrived on a Sunday when the supermarkets are closed. Speaking of which the nearest are located one junction onwards on the motorway in each direction. A large supermarket one junction back towards Malaga or a large air condition precinct containing Supermarket, clothes stores, shoe stores C&A, Dunnes, Claires, restaurants etc etc one junction in the other direction you could reach either within 20mins by car. Car hire is a must and also take mosi killer. We will definitely be booking this property again.

An Absolutley fantastic Villa set in a wonderful location. We had the most fantastic and relaxing honeymoon which was made all the better thanks to the Julian and Stuarts attentiveness (Champagne and Wine Most appreciated !). Staying at Casa Escondida was to have the best of both worlds, the fantastic views and the private setting but with the comforts of home. We could not recommend this Villa highly enough if you want to come back from holiday truly relaxed and having experienced rural Spain. Thankyou for our Brilliant memories and we hope to back there soon.!

Very nice villa with superb views. House had everything we needed and more. Quite close to many nice seaside towns with a large supermarket not too far away. Both the owner and the key holder were very helpful, making sure that everything was ok. Would book again. Thanks.
Thank your for opening our eyes to a Spanish holiday with a difference. We have had many holidays in Spain, but always in busy resorts on the coast. Last year we thought we would try a more tranquil holiday, and your casa lived up to all our expectations. Just a nice distance from the coast, should we want to go to the beach, although must say we were more than happy to chill by the pool, and just pleasing ourselves. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are hoping to bring our friends next year. Kind Regards John and Barbara Nunn
Dear Julian I would just like to let you know how wonderful our holiday was at your Caseta. The remote setting of the property is absolutely wonderful and the stunning view overlooking the valley and out to the sea in the distance is just what we were hoping for. My wife was really taken with the shaded covered terraces and the wonderful flowers and shrubs that you have surrounded the property with. The tinkling of the goats bells as they go out to forage for the day was really the icing on the cake as this was about the only thing apart from the Catalan farmer tending his vegetables and grapes, that we were aware of. This is what a REAL Spanish holiday was about. Once again many thanks for the use of your Caseta. We shall let a few of our close friends know about this wonderful jewel. Kind Regards Graham and Sally Webber

About the owner
The Villa is our family holiday home, we have spent the last 10 years improving it to the standard we would expect, but it is not run as a business, just to help us cover some of our costs. The basic rule is there are no rules, just chill out and relax. Hope you enjoy the place as much as we do.
