4 bedroom holiday villa in Almería Province, Spain, with shared pool
July 2019

We have just spent two weeks at this villa and had a really good time. It is a great villa in a lovely little development within Desert Springs of 14 villas around one pool. The pool area is great. The only drawback is that there is only air conditioning in the lounge and main bedroom. There are fans in the other three bedrooms but unfortunately when it is really hot they do not cool the bedrooms.

4 bedroom holiday villa in Almería Province, Spain, with shared pool
August 2017

We have been travelling to Spain every year, for 14 years, and we consider La Rosa to have been the finest accommodation we've ever had. As a party of 8, we had ample space in every bedroom and separate bathroom facilities for each bedroom. The views from the property across the golf course were breathtaking. It was paradise. The swimming pool is shared by just several properties and was very close to the property. It was clean and of a good size too. The air con, which is powerful, was a saviour in the very hot conditions and the TV allowed us to keep abreast of what was happening back in the UK, having all the key stations available. There were very few negatives but it might be worth mentioning them. There was a communication breakdown between ourselves and the owner regarding the key being left (it would have been useful to have had this sorted several days before arrival, instead of a day prior). However, this was quickly resolved and the staff at Desert Springs did all they could to assist. There are only 7 forks and we were a party of a 8 (something that can be quickly resolved). And, there were a couple of plug points that just need fixing properly to the wall. Also, be prepared for mosquitoes. On the whole, nevertheless, the property and the facility at Desert Springs is of a very, very high standard. The Crocodile Club was a great place to go for something to eat and drink in the evenings, having live music. It was also good for its sports facilities (several of us used the gymnasium on a number of occasions), although we were looking forward to using the spa facilities which were being refurbished during our stay. Would definitely recommend this property and would consider returning ourselves, if the owners would have us!!

September 2016

The perfect peaceful spot to completely relax, yet only a 10 minute walk to a great typical Spanish village and a 10 minute drive to Mojacar Playa. The local people are so friendly and the village market on a Tuesday is a little gem. We will be going back again.

To discover the panorama, the architecture of the places, the Andalusian climate is nothing if one does not associate the daily imprint of Juan who carries out his tasks for the well-being of the residents. A pure place of healing for 4 people who drew on the maternal family sources in the triangle of memories of Bédart, Garrucha and Mojacar. Ola!

4 bedroom holiday villa in Almería Province, Spain, with shared pool
April 2013

This is a charming property in a great location. It is a quiet and tranquil haven, yet close to all the facilities that Desert Springs has to offer. The interior living space would be a little cramped for seven or eight people, but fine for four to six. The bedrooms and bathrooms are quite spacious and have good storage space. There is plenty of outdoor terrace and garden space and the pool is nearby. It has a lovely outlook from the terrace and garden, even more so from the 1st floor terrace.

Apartments for rent in the province of Almeria

Southeast of the Iberian peninsula in Adalucia lies the sun-drenched province of Almeria, bordered by Granada Province, Murcia and the Mediterranean Sea. The nearest and main airport is Almeria Airport, with direct flights to the UK typically taking 2 hours 45 minutes. Our holiday properties in Almería Province put you in the heart of it all; the glorious beaches of the Costa de Almeria, Moorish remains of Almería city, the hiking and cycling trails of the Sierra Nevada and award-winning golf clubs like Desert Springs in Cuevas del Almanzora.

Boasting serene mountain valleys, a rugged coast, secluded coves and wide sweeps of golden sand, its unspoiled natural parks and vast desert dunes of Tabernas – the only desert in Europe, is a real paradise for adventurers. Nowadays, its landscape stars in wild west movies, attracting tourists who come to see its spectacular Mini Hollywood theme parks with their spaghetti western simulations. Almeria is an ideal destination for families, couples and sun-worshippers alike. Visit its zoo or museum, or why not discover the stunning desert landscape on horseback. The pool areas are dotted with its busy bars overlooking a sensational slice of desert backdrop – a welcome respite from the heat of the day.

With plenty of cultural gems to keep you busy, from museums to the fascinating architecture, take a stroll along La Rambla, a wide, tree-lined avenue bustling with street cafes, shops, fountains and play areas for children. Head west and admire the tranquil squares and Medieval buildings of the old town. The east side offers an abundance of culture, from the art galleries to the stylish boutiques.

The northern region of the province of Almeria is home to eight natural parks; some of the most impressive on the peninsula. The Sierra Nevada’s magnificent landscape is comprised of deep valleys, lakes and hilly peaks, while Sierra Marí-Los Vélez’s beautiful snowy mountaintop provides the perfect backdrop for winter. Venture off the beaten track and enjoy bird watching, horse riding or a romantic sunset stroll along the blue Mediterranean at Punta Entinas-Sabinar Natural Park. Discover the underground treasures of the Sorbas Caves, with their crystals, stalactites and stalagmites. After a day of sightseeing and outdoor exploring, the capital and port city, Almería, offers a welcome contrast of urban energy with its busy promenade, museums, buzzing tapas bars and children's playground Parque de las Familias. Don't leave without seeing the city's cultural gem - 10th century Alcazaba of Almeria fortress, dominating the skyline; a symbol of the region's fascinating Arab past.

Rent an apartment near the beach to make the most of the glorious sunshine of the Costa de Almeria; most notably the Blue Flag beaches of Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, and the coastal resorts of Mojácar, Almerimar, Roquetas de Mar, Aguadulce and Vera, offering an abundance of water sports, fine sand and calm, child-friendly waters. Take a break from the coast and surprise your kids with a visit to Roquetas Aquarium with its underwater tunnels and exotic species of marine life. Or make a splash at nearby Mario Park. Head further east along the coast all the way to Garrucha where you'll find Aqua Vera Water Park boasting water slides, play pools and a lively selection of bars and restaurants.

Whether you stay in one of our spacious family-friendly apartments in the heart of the province, or one of our beach apartments with stunning sea views, you’ll get to discover why this region is one of Spain’s best-kept secret hideaways!
