Villa overview

Bathed in the soft Provençal light of the Luberon, Villa Apolline offers a stylish holiday abode among ancient oaks and olive trees, just minutes from the celebrated hilltop village of Gordes.

Set within 1.5 hectares of natural grounds, summer life unfolds across the impressive, large terrace. Begin the morning with coffee outdoors, settle beneath a parasol with a book, then cool off in the heated swimming pool. Sun loungers and a comfortable lounge area encourage afternoons spent outside, while a gas barbecue and pétanque court set the scene for relaxed evenings beneath the stars.

Inside, contemporary comfort is balanced with the warmth of Provençal living. The studio brings together an open-plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen opening directly onto the terrace. Three spacious garden level suites accommodate up to six guests, making Villa Apolline particularly well suited to couples holidaying together. Each spacious bedroom has terrace access, air conditioning, TV, mini fridge and an en suite with a bath and/or shower.

The location invites guests to experience Provence at an unhurried pace. Wander through the honey coloured streets of Gordes, explore its historic château, or discover the centuries old Sénanque Abbey and distinctive stone dwellings of the Village des Bories. Elsewhere, mornings might also begin browsing regional produce at a local market, followed by an afternoon exploring the lanes, viewpoints and café terraces of nearby Luberon villages within a short drive.

For guests seeking privacy, space and an authentic connection with the Luberon landscape, Villa Apolline offers a superb base for discovering one of Provence’s most captivating corners.

A short drive from the emblematic hilltop village of Gordes, Villa Apolline enjoys an enchanting setting amid the landscapes of the Luberon. Surrounded by 1.5 hectares of natural grounds, where ancient oaks and olive trees bask in Provence’s famously soft light, the villa places some of the region’s most captivating villages within easy reach.

Gordes (2.5km) is the natural starting point, its stone houses cascading dramatically down the hillside and its historic château standing at the heart of the village. Nearby heritage sites include the centuries-old Sénanque Abbey and the distinctive dry-stone dwellings of the Village des Bories.

For everyday essentials, Coustellet (6km) is particularly convenient, with supermarkets, bakeries, grocery shops, a pharmacy and other useful amenities. It is also known for its farmers’ market, adding a welcome taste of local life to practical shopping trips.

Days can easily be spent discovering the characterful villages scattered across the Luberon. Goult (8km), Ménerbes (9km), Roussillon (11km) and Oppède le Vieux (11km) are all within easy reach, inviting leisurely outings through a landscape of vineyards, olive groves and wooded hills. Each offers its own take on Provençal village life, from historic stone architecture and atmospheric lanes to beautiful viewpoints across the surrounding countryside.

For a change of scene, head to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (16km), where canals and historic waterwheels wind through a town celebrated for its remarkable concentration of antique dealers. Browse for one-off treasures before settling beside the water for lunch, or take to the clear waters of the Sorgue by canoe or kayak. Nearby Fontaine-de-Vaucluse is another rewarding excursion, particularly for walkers, with the spectacular source of the Sorgue emerging beneath towering limestone cliffs.

Further afield, Villa Apolline is beautifully positioned for memorable day trips to places such as Avignon, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence and Aix-en-Provence, offering the chance to combine calm Luberon living with some of Provence’s most celebrated historic towns and cities.
