Once owned by a renowned American writer and later chosen as a film set, the estate has now been lovingly transformed by an Italian architect and his Australian wife. The result is a home where Tuscan tradition sings in harmony with understated modern design.

Walk through its arched loggia and you’re greeted by terracotta floors, softly lime-washed walls, and lofty timber beams. The villa flows effortlessly between indoor and outdoor living, with five French doors revealing shaded terraces, a Tuscan pergola, and views across olive groves and cypress-dotted hills. Five beautiful bedrooms, each with chevron parquet and en-suite travertine bathrooms, include two serene master suites and a one-of-a-kind bedroom tucked into the villa’s original tower, offering uninterrupted 360-degree views across the estate.

The kitchen is a dream for cooks, with a travertine island, wine fridge and double ovens, while the formal dining room and twin lounges invite long, laughter-filled evenings. Outside, the elliptical heated pool shimmers beside the wild garden, where bees hum through rosemary and the scent of lavender drifts on the breeze.

Villa Lala is located in the heart of the Chianti countryside, just twenty minutes from the medieval streets of Siena and an hour from Florence. Surrounded by 50 hectares of rolling land, it offers rare seclusion without feeling remote. A picturesque village only five minutes away offers a restaurant praised by locals and travellers alike, along with useful everyday essentials.

This region is the soul of Tuscany, famous for its wine, olive oil, and postcard-perfect landscapes. Spend the day touring ancient hilltop towns, wine tasting at historic estates, or simply wandering through olive groves that have stood for centuries. For the active, walking and cycling routes abound, with trails that wind through woodland and vineyards. And when the day winds down, there’s no better place to be than back at the villa, drink in hand, watching the sky turn pink over the valley.

Security deposit
€3000 paid via bank transfer to the owner one month before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

End of stay cleaning
Standard changeover clean included in the price. Guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

Smoking Allowed?
Not allowed. The villa is a non-smoking accommodation both indoors and outdoors. In the vent that rules are broken, there will be a charge of €2000 for extra cleaning.
