Villa overview

Located in picture-perfect Eygalières, Maison Hugo offers a rare blend of village charm and understated elegance. Surrounded by the soft hum of Provençal life, this attractive 4-bedroom villa exudes an air of sophistication, where every detail has been considered to provide a characterful stay for up to 8 guests.

The house combines spacious interiors with inviting corners. The ground floor unfolds into a generous living room with a wood-beamed ceiling and French doors that open onto the landscaped garden. A beautifully appointed kitchen, with sleek appliances and a convivial dining table, leads out to the shaded terrace ideal for leisurely outdoor meals. An en suite double bedroom on this level also features direct garden access.

Upstairs, the layout continues to impress. The main bedroom with its king-size double enjoys its own south-west facing balcony, while two additional en suite bedrooms offer flexibility with twin beds that can be joined. Every bath/shower room is finished with considered attention, combining modern fittings with Provençal touches.

Outdoors, the house opens onto an enclosed garden where Mediterranean planting softens the stone architecture. Al-fresco living is effortless here with a 10m-long heated swimming pool and a covered terrace with a dining table, plancha grill and relaxed seating area.

The true privilege of Maison Hugo lies in its location. Just a few steps from the cobbled lanes and lively cafés of Eygalières, guests can fully immerse themselves in this sought-after village, one of the most desirable in Les Alpilles. With its weekly market, authentic shops and inspiring views of the surrounding landscapes as you climb the hill, it offers the ideal setting for a Provençal escape that feels both timeless and elevated.

Maison Hugo enjoys a prime location in the picturesque village of Eygalières, a short walk from the village centre. It is part of a collection of houses with shared access to the village – within a couple of minutes on foot you can be watching the world go by as you enjoy a coffee at Café de la Place.

Eygalières itself is a Provençal gem – authentic and brimming with charm. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Les Alpilles, this elegant village is home to stone houses, winding lanes and spectacular views as you climb the hill. Discover its delightful weekly market, high-end restaurants and age-old chapels, or simply wander its characterful streets seeking shade beneath the trees. It’s a village that invites you to slow down and savour the rhythm of Provençal life.

Beyond the village, Les Alpilles Regional Natural Park offers a wealth of outdoor adventures. From gentle walks and scenic hikes to cycling and rock climbing, the surrounding limestone hills, pine forests and olive groves provide a stunning natural playground. Spend the day exploring Les Baux-de-Provence (22km), a spectacular hilltop village crowned by castle ruins, or enjoy a leisurely lunch in the pretty square of Maussane-les-Alpilles (17.5km), known for its excellent olive oil and relaxed charm.

Nearby, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (13km) offers a heady mix of culture and history. Its Roman heritage and connection to Van Gogh provide depth and intrigue, while chic boutiques, art galleries and gourmet restaurants make it a joy to explore. Saint-Rémy’s vibrant Wednesday morning market is not to be missed.

For those seeking iconic Provençal scenery a little further afield, Maison Hugo is ideally placed for trips to the perched villages of the Luberon – Gordes (33km), Roussillon (42km) and Ménerbes (30km) each enchant with their unique character and hilltop beauty.

For a change of pace, venture further afield with a day trip to Avignon (29km), home of the Palais des Papes and a vibrant arts scene, or lose yourself in the antique markets and waterside charm of L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (26km) with its famous Sunday morning brocante.
