As you explore Villa Gotti, come across delightful living areas, a well-equipped kitchen and six rustic bedrooms. It’s been renovated with care and sensitivity whilst modern additions include Wi-Fi, TV with Netflix/Sky and air-conditioning.

Outside, there are four terraces with wonderful sea views as well as opportunities for al-fresco dining and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, oven and fridge. Imagine warm summer evenings with good wine and delicious Ligurian food (an excellent cook can be arranged!). There’s also a little heated splash pool and a traditional Ligurian terraced garden with vines alongside olive, citrus and fruit trees.    

The setting is magical, located in the hills on the edge of a little hamlet above Varigotti and Finale Ligure on the Riviera di Ponente. There’s a steep, narrow path leading down to the coast for the most adventurous of guests or it’s a short drive along the winding roads. Varigotti is around 15 minutes by car – two parking spaces are reserved for you as well as two sunbeds and an umbrella in one of Varigotti’s most exclusive beach establishments (open seasonally).

Finale Ligure will also enchant you, a small town with a grand square overlooking the sea, perfect for evening aperitifs and gelato. A short walk from Finale Ligure, medieval Finalborgo, classed as one of the prettiest villages in Italy, awaits with its flower-filled lanes, little squares and lovely restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts note that this area is popular with mountain bikers and climbers with extraordinary scenery all around you.

Elsewhere, hop on the train to Genoa for a lunch of trofie al pesto in a characterful osteria in this beautiful Italian city or stay closer to home and enjoy whale-watching excursions from Savona or coastal hiking near Noli before returning to the serene hills of your holiday home for more spectacular views. 

Villa Gotti is a charming sea-facing house located on the edge of a little hamlet in the hills above the Ligurian Sea, between Varigotti and Finale Ligure. Genoa Airport (70km) is just over an hour by car or you could arrive into Nice (143km) and drive across the French-Italian border. West of Genoa, this part of the coastline is called the Riviera di Ponente and it is especially popular with Italian tourists in the height of the summer.  

The villa enjoys a remote setting (with a small handful of neighbours) on a hilly road away from the tourist crowds of the coast below, yet only a short drive to restaurants and beaches via the winding roads. The most adventurous can walk down to the coast via a steep, narrow path. There is a hotel-restaurant around 1km away (seasonal opening).

You will find further restaurants as well as shops and other amenities in the small coastal town of Finale Ligure (4km). Take a stroll along the promenade, rent a sunbed and umbrella at one of the seasonal beach clubs and swim in the clear sea. Head into the main part of the town and enjoy a coffee on a café terrace facing the pretty Chiesa di San Giovanni Battista or join locals with aperitivo on the main square overlooking the sea. The train station in Finale Ligure has direct trains towards Genoa and Ventimiglia.

Experience yet more charm in Finalborgo (5km), an enchanting medieval village a short walk from Finale Ligure, with beautiful flower-filled lanes, gorgeous squares, restaurants and incredible surrounding scenery – the village is classified as a ‘borghi più Belli d'Italia’ with good reason. Outdoor enthusiasts note that this area is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and rock-climbers.

Around 15 minutes by car, the much-loved seaside resort of Varigotti awaits – Villa Gotti guests have the privilege of two car parking spaces near the beach as well as a two sun loungers and a parasol at an exclusive beach establishment on Spiaggia Libera di Varigotti (seasonal use only). Varigotti is a very picturesque spot with its pastel-coloured houses by the beach and lovely restaurants.

A little further along the coast, Saraceni Bay is considered one of the most beautiful spots along this part of the coast. Meanwhile, keen walkers can follow the Sentiero del Pellegrino hiking trail towards Noli with incredible vistas of the Ligurian sea.

The house and its grounds are on various levels. Guests need to be able to safely manage steep stairs/steps and partially open terraced grounds.

Guests can have access to the use of two sun loungers and two parking spaces at the nearby beach (in high season only), although this must be requested at the time of booking.

Saturday. All other changeover days on request.

End of stay cleaning available?
Yes, standard changeover clean included. Guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
