Maison Charlemagne’s traditional façade, exposed beams, and warmly furnished interiors exude authentic character. The living and dining area invites relaxation, whilst the open-plan kitchen allows guests to prepare meals with locally sourced ingredients from nearby markets.

There is a good-sized double bedroom on the ground floor with its en suite bathroom and a second double bedroom (that can be split as a two singles) and shower room upstairs beneath the sloping ceiling.

Step outside to the spacious garden where you can enjoy al fresco dining in the shade of the trees or kick back on the poolside terrace with glorious vistas of the countryside. On warm summer days, laze on the sun loungers before cooling off in your wonderful swimming pool.

Whether you’re seeking adventure, history or relaxation, Maison Charlemagne is your gateway to the treasures of the Périgord Noir and beyond.  Only a 40-minute drive from Bergerac Airport, Maison Charlemagne enjoys a fine location on the edge of Trémolat, not far from the banks of the Dordogne River. The historic house is set just off a country lane with the heart of the village around 700m away on foot following a couple of local roads (no pavement as typical in rural France).

Trémolat is a picturesque village that embodies the charm and serenity of rural France. With its stone cottages, meandering lanes, and captivating views over the Dordogne River, Trémolat is a haven for those seeking an authentic escape. Wander through the cobbled streets to discover a small handful of cafes, restaurants and little shops where local delicacies beckon.

A visit to the region isn’t complete without exploring its historic treasures. At the centre of Trémolat lies the Romanesque Church of St. Nicholas, a beautiful testament to medieval architecture. For history enthusiasts, the nearby Cadouin Abbey (13km), a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers a glimpse into centuries past with its exquisite cloisters and serene gardens.

Security deposit
€1,000 charged to client's credit card as a pre-authorisation at least 2 weeks prior to arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

While passport and flight details are not legally required for entry into this country, the owner of the property has specifically requested that this information be provided in advance. This requirement is part of their internal check-in procedure and is necessary to facilitate your arrival and ensure a smooth start to your stay.

Changeover day
Saturday - all other changeover days on request.

End of stay cleaning
Standard changeover clean included in the price. Guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

No.

Insurance
Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for civil liability as well as cancellations, personal belongings, public liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay. A copy of this policy will be requested by the owner before arrival.

7 nights.

Pool heating charge?
Please note that pool opening dates are subject to local weather conditions and pool maintenance requirements and that cooler months may not be suitable for swimming.

Tax
French Visitors Tax payable on booking confirmation (typically costs €1-€10 per adult per night). Exact cost will depend on number of adults travelling and duration, and will be advised at the time of booking.
