Casa Cal Domino

Cal Domino is a 4 double bedroom, three bathroom Villa situated in the Gavarres Massif overlooking the medieval village of Calonge and its 10th century castle, with panoramic views of the Massif and Costa Brava coastline. Two bedrooms are air-conditioned and two bedrooms have sea breezes and ceiling fans. All non air-conditioned bedrooms have mosquito screens.

The Villa has a very private heated infinity pool with views of the coast, a sauna and exterior Jacuzzi / spa, broadband WIFI, CCTV entrance, alarm and large safe for your personal effects whilst you are away from the Villa.

The upper lounge has satellite wide-screen LCD TV and a blue-ray player with some Pixar / Disney discs for the kids, plus a private terrace with sofa and table with outstanding views of the coastline, perfect for cocktails and sundowners.

The lower "snug" lounge has a panoramic picture window over the pool deck and pool, plus a radio and CD player plus a selection of CD's.

The modern kitchen has a 5 ring gas hob with extractor fan, microwave, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster, kettle, juicer and Nespresso machine. It has its own large private terrace with panoramic views, Uruguayan BBQ pit and moon shaped sofa.

The tropical wood pool deck of about 35 sq Mts has 8 sun loungers with parasols next to the private heated infinity pool which is not overlooked by the neighbours. There is a large exterior shaded sofa area and double hamaca with a single hamaca seat next to the exterior heated jacuzzi spa which seats 3.

For the winter months, the villa is fully winterised with double glazing throughout and natural gas central heating to compliment the log fireplace situated in the upper lounge.

Cal Domino is environmentally friendly with electrical power augmented by our own solar PV system and a virtual battery, plus the hot water system is by solar PV and solar collectors. The heated infinity pool is powered by a purely solar filtration system and heated by the solar virtual battery. We have a dedicated solar hot water shower on the pool terrace. All waste needs to be separated and is either collected at the front door by the council or Nigel can collect and recycle the waste for you.

Cal Domino is situated just 3.5 km from the Costa Brava which is perfect for summer beach holidays, we are also just 30 km from the biggest national maritime reserve at les Illes de Medes, and ideal location for snorkelling and Scuba excursions. To the north we have Aguamols which is Spains biggest national wetland reserve for migratory birds, and to the south, the Montseny Massif national park for hiking the mountains on Les Aguedes and Turo de l'Home. To the north west, we have the volcanic national park of Garroxta which isn famous for its dormant volcanoes and beautiful beech forests and just 90 km away the high Pyrenees with a dozen ski resorts and stunning hiking during the summer months.

Girona city is just 40 km away and is home to over 20 international road cycling teams which come to the region to train during the winter months. The roads are well maintained, the Gavarres is a paradise for cyclists and the local drivers are obliged to give a minimum of 1.5 Mts when overtaking. For mountain biking, Cal Domino is situated in the foothills of the Gavarres Massif and there are hundreds of mountain biking trails to be enjoyed directly from the front door.

For the golfers, we have half a dozen international standard courses within 35 km of the Villa including Spains no 1 course, the PGA Catalunya.
