This light and airy 3rd floor Apartment with modern furnishings enjoys views across Stroud Valley with exposed features and high ceilings.
A Perfect Countryside Getaway!
Within walking distance there are a wide choice of restaurants and pubs. One of my favorites is “The Corner House” on London Rd, that serves mediterranean food with the freshest local ingredients. Of course, local fish and chips are available in abundance. Right across the street from the apartment is a fabulous coffee shop and directly down a small alleyway is “The Stroud Wine Company,” a locally owned speciality wine and beverage shop. Just around the corner you’ll find a fantastic small natural foods market called “The Sunshine Health Shop” offering a wide array of choices to the health conscious.
The meeting point of the five valleys, the historic town of Stroud is a well-known center for arts and crafts as well as it’s wonderful weekly farmers market.
Music and food fill the soul!
The largest farmers market in all of Gloucestershire! The market is renowned for the quality of its produce and people from all over the county flock here on the weekends. Musicians busk on the cobbled streets of the market . You can enjoy a delicious raclette melted and poured over organic veggies, an Indian curry wrap or kebabs. After lunch you can browse the various craft stalls, where you will see leather goods, home made ciders and home made ceramics to name a few.
There are numerous hiking and biking trails around Stroud. Painswick and Nailsworth are accessible by bike, taxi, or bus.
Casual walks along the canals can be enjoyed where you may spot an occasional barge.
Tetbury Village, an antique lovers paradise, is 10.8 miles away. “Highgrove House,” the Cotswold Retreat of Prince Charles, is in the area.
Stroud train station is a mere -four minute walk from the apartment and has good transport links with Central London, Paddington station is 90 minutes (approx) by train and Bath or Bristol 45 minutes by car.
