A beautiful romance can easily flourish in this precious country cottage in the Dordogne. Everything a couple needs is within the four rough-hewn walls of the petit villa, but your honeymoon will truly bloom in the gardens, and the countryside beyond. You won’t believe your eyes as you swim in the small private pool, the rolling green hills stretching out before you, the flowers in the garden nodding their heads.
Use the villa’s bicycles to ride to Saint Méard de Gurçon (3km), a town full of flowers, gorgeous architecture, and award-winning wine. Indeed, you’re in the middle of wine country; don’t pass over the chance to taste your way through the Bergerac wine region (just follow the Dordogne river toward Bergerac, less than 30km away). In the opposite direction you can visit Château de Montaigne (15km), a wine-producing castle where French philosopher Michel de Montaigne was born.
An hour’s drive will take you to the architecture, gardens, and wine of Bordeaux - La Perle d'Aquitaine. Bergerac Airport is your nearest escape from the region (33km), but don't fret, this is just the beginning. Come write your love's first chapter in this simple, peaceful villa for two.
Villa des Anges is enviably positioned just off the scenic road leading south to Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (12km). This is an ideal location between the prestigious wine capital of Saint-Émilion (36km) and the historic riverside town of Bergerac (29km). This tranquil corner of the Dordogne offers guests a serene yet vibrant setting, framed by rolling vineyards, verdant hills and a wealth of cultural treasures waiting to be explored.
Just 3km away lies the charming village of Saint-Méard-de-Gurçon, known for its peaceful, flower-lined lanes and striking Gothic church. The village surroundings boast excellent local wine producers, and active guests will appreciate the new padel courts only 2km away.
A short drive brings you to the atmospheric bastide town of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (12km), founded in the 13th century and perched elegantly along the Dordogne river. Its famous Saturday morning market is one of the oldest and most celebrated in the region, bursting with vibrant local produce, artisan goods, and seasonal delights. For outdoor enthusiasts, Sainte-Foy also serves as a gateway to the Dordogne's waters, offering fantastic canoeing and kayaking experiences that allow visitors to drift past ancient villages and serene riverbanks.
No visit would be complete without a trip to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saint-Émilion (36km). With its labyrinthine medieval streets, monolithic church carved into rock, and prestigious châteaux, this hilltop village is a haven for wine lovers and history enthusiasts alike. Its UNESCO listed vineyards, part of the famous Bordeaux wine region, offer exceptional tasting experiences in stunning settings.
To the east, the picturesque town of Bergerac (29km) beckons with its half-timbered houses, romantic riverside quays, and rich winemaking heritage. Discover the history of Cyrano de Bergerac, explore the town's Maison des Vins, or take a gentle boat ride aboard a traditional gabarre along the Dordogne. The town also hosts a lively food and antiques market, perfect for finding a local memento.
For those craving a cosmopolitan fix, the dynamic city of Bordeaux (80km) is just over an hour by car. A perfect destination for a day trip, Bordeaux boasts grand 18th-century architecture, world-class art museums, and a vibrant culinary scene. Wander along the elegant Garonne riverfront, sip wine at a trendy terrace bar, or explore the futuristic Cité du Vin for a deeper dive into wine culture.

£300 or €400 charged to clients' credit card prior to arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

Villa Des Anges sleeps a maximum of 2 adults and 1 baby (aged under 12 months). A cot, highchair and changing table can be provided on request.
Weddings, stag/hen parties and any special events are not allowed.

Saturday.
End of stay cleaning
Extra €55, payable locally. Guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

Insurance
Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, personal belongings, public liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.

Heating costs included?
No, extra charge of approximately €50 per week, payable locally, for a temperature of up to 20C (available October to end-March).
Internet access?
Internet access is provided for occasional and leisure use only - for more regular/professional use guests will need to provide their own 3G type connection.

Pool opening dates?
The pool is open approximately April to end-October. Please note that pool opening dates are subject to local weather conditions and pool maintenance requirements and that cooler months may not be suitable for swimming.
