Villa overview - owner's description

If you are looking for a place to relax and get back in touch with nature, to walk or to cycle, to visit little villages and medieval castles of the Chianti region, then this is the place for you.

The house is 600m above sea level, on the slopes of the Pratomagno mountain which divides the valley of the Arno from the Casentino. The rustic house is situated in a strategic position around 30km from Florence and Arezzo, and 40km from Siena.

There is a spectacular view on the valley and the swimmingpool. The house is around 5 minutes’ drive from Castelfranco di Sopra. It is the perfect place for those who are looking for peace and nature.
The farmhouse is made up of a central house and of 5 buildings. The property includes 5 hectares of terraced gardens built with traditional stonewallsì, a vineyard and olive and fruit trees.
The farmhouse produces high quality olive oil, wine, vin santo, vinegar, fruit, jams and honey, all of which can be bought on site.

Apartment Sud can be reached with the stairs, the apartment is on the first and second floor. The furniture is rustic with the typical Tuscan touch. The garden is at the entrance of the house, but at 40 meters next to the wood. Next to the stairs to the apartment ius a veranda.

Walks around Belvedere
Right next to the loggia, by the gate to the court, you'll find a sign post with a rough scheme of nearby walks or hikes. From Belvedere, various trails will take you through our forests up to the Pratomagno peaks or downhill to our nearby village Pulicciano and further down to Castelfranco or Pian di Scò. Only the trails are man-made. The scenery you pass is untouched and wildly romantic nature.

Barbecue and open fire
Even though there are outdoor fire places at almost all our apartments, the use thereof during the summer months is strictly forbidden, owing to the high risk of forest fires. There is a barbecue grill on wheels, kept in the loggia and available for our guests. There is also a barbecue grill at the Casa Cipressi.

Oil and wine
Our fattoria offers you its own wine and, above all, our renowned first-class olive oil. At the reception loggia (between the big able and the little wall) you will find a little door. The key to it is hidden in the lantern hanging above the table (please always put the key back there for other guests to find it). In this little shed you'll find white and red wine, oil as well as vinegar and „Vin Santo“, a sweet desert wine very typical for our area. Please note down what you are consuming on the notepad prepared for you. Your account will be settled upon your departure. Note: We do not offer payment by credit card or bank card – cash only.

At E-bike rental you can rent electric bikes, perfect for a trip to Pratomagno at about 1400 meters above sea level or in the Chianti area. The bikes can be delivered directly at the holiday home.
Ask the owner for more information.

Great place. Special house with a lot of history. Breathtaking view. Managers very friendly and caring. Very nice to stay here. Only drawback were the stinging mosquitoes. Seems to belong to the season (September)

Nice authentic location, beautiful view.

The accommodation is not overly luxurious, but the atmosphere and surroundings compensate that amply. You live temporarily in a few hundred years of history and the owner knows proudly about it. And .., .. in summer the thick walls keep the spacious house cool. There is rural peace on the mountain. Accessibility of the big cities is fine via the station of Figline via Florence Rome is 1.5 hours away.

Immediately after arrival, a tour was given by the owner. Beautiful old farm! Very friendly welcome. Owner gives a lot of tips on the surroundings. Delicious tomatoes, cucumber from their own garden. He regularly brought fresh fruit. From the house a beautiful view towards the villages in the valley.

After a great climb up we arrived full of olive trees on a beautiful estate. If you want to Tuscany you can find him here. The owner Vanni is a wonderful man who told lovingly about his farm and environment. Truly a must!

The road to the authentic 14th century house is an exciting tocht.Het house is decorated with furniture that fit the house, but to modern times (dishwasher) is also expected. Vanni is a hospitable landlord, who arranged fruit, vegetables and tips will bring / come up. Just a pity that the Wifi / internet did not meet our requirements.

De Groot Jul 2014

A fantastic view from the apartment. The owner Vanni happy to give a tour and talks proudly about the history of its buildings and furniture. Every morning he brought us fruit and vegetables from his own garden. People who truly seek peace should wait a few years with books, the grandchildren of Vanni are old enough and probably produce less noise. We have not disturbed us, but I can imagine that this is different if you are looking for real peace. The road to the apartment is paved, but not suitable for people with vertigo. Tuscany is beautiful and from the apartment we visited many cities. From the apartment you at least two hours on the road before you can visit. Tourist places Figline a large supermarket Coop. On Saturday incredibly busy. Open even on Sundays.

We stayed in 'Sud', part of the original house, which dates back to the 13th century. From our windows and the terrace outside our house, there are the most amazing views across the Arno valley, although the drive up the winding road from Castelfranco is not for the faint-hearted. Inside, the rooms are full of old furniture, fittings and pictures, so if you want a taste of the old Italy, this place is for you. The house is at the end of a road (last bit dirt), so there is no passing traffic. The daily sound of the bee-eaters flying over, or the gentle buzz of the humming-bird hawk moths (day &amp night) are the only sounds to disturb. There is a small swimming pool which is great for cooling off in during the heat of the day it also has fantastic views across the valley. The host is very welcoming and will give you a tour of the ancient house at the drop of a hat. If you want to get to any of the city attractions (Florence, Siena etc.) they all involve a drive of an hour or more. There are several interesting villages and small towns much closer, especially if you are interested in churches and their associated art. This venue is definitely for people who want to 'get away from it all.'

Very warm welcome, Rita is fantastic. Because the house is situated on a hill, it "s very quiet. Also it is less hot. Belvedere is an ideal place to visit Tuscany Siena, Florence, Arrezo, San Gimignano. You can buy wine, very fine olive oil and honey. And let 's not forget the "vin santo"! The Sud apartment is spacious and basic. For us (parents and 4 children) it was very good. After all, we spent all day outdoors. There you have a nice view over the valley. Nice pool. Tip visit Florence by train. There is an in Figline railway station, 20 minutes from Belvedere. We did that and were absolutely happy 30 minutes in the train, a ten minutes walk and you "re standing in front of the Duomo!

The decor is "traditional " very sober. But certainly not pressed the fun. Very nice vacation with culture, dining pleasure and beautiful environments. Quality time.

The ancient villa is spacious and nice and cool inside, even when the outside temperature rises. Very pleasant reception.
