Our family villa is situated in Peyia, it has been an ideal location for us as there are many things to see and do in the local area for ourselves and the children. The beaches which are within a 5 minute drive are beautiful, and also offer Watersports. The area is stunning with hillside and sea views almost everywhere you drive, and there are many restaurants and bars offering a variety of different cuisines and of course including lovely tavernas serving local dishes and meze.
We have just returned from a two week holiday at the villa which is in a quiet residential area. Overall we had a great time but the villa needs some tender loving care both internally and externally. Paint is peeling off in the third bedroom and hall from damp walls. The villa did not appear to have had a clean before we arrived.
The main internal issue is the timers installed on the air conditioning units in every room including bedroom’s. They have a maximum time of two hours which makes it very inconvenient having to get up 2 or 3 times a night to turn them back on. This also had to be done for a child in the third bedroom. I read a review from August 2024 on another rental site where the owner assured future renter’s that the timers had been disconnected going forward.
Externally the villa is tired. On arrival the pool area was flooded and my wife slipped over. The owner messaged us after the slippage happened to say that there had been an issue with the previous renters and contractors would attend to rectify on the Monday!
The pool had a tide mark around it when we arrived. We used the external shower before swimming. The pool man attended twice for 5 minutes each but only looked at the skim filters which were not cleaned out. The dead cockroaches were left floating, the chlorine was replenished but no cleaning was carried out.
There are three parasol bases but only two parasols, I do not consider that two parasols are sufficient for a party of 5 or a full party of 6 renters.
The gardens would also benefit from tidying up.
