Heather Cottage is a beautiful place to stay in the centre of Bakewell, and its location gives easy access to the Peak District. The cottage has everything you could need when staying away from home and dealing with the owners was super easy. Highly recommended!!

We stayed for 3 nights as a family at the beginning of January and had a wonderful time. It's a beautiful cottage - loads of character, warm, comfortable, and equipped with everything you'd need. The layout is great, with a spacious bedroom and bathroom on two separate floors. The beds and duvets are superb - we all slept extremely well, which was needed after the long walks we'd done each day! The fireplace was also a bonus as it was cold weather when we stayed, with snow on the last day! The location of the cottage is ideal. A few minutes to walk into Bakewell centre, which has plenty of good pubs, cafes and restaurants. We particularly liked The Woodyard, which was perfect for a meal with family and friends. Delicious food and cocktails. There are great walking routes in any direction, and also the Monsal Trail for biking. Carolyn and Richard were great hosts and responded to any questions quickly. All in all, we would highly recommend and will definitely return.

Beautiful, well maintained, character property within easy walking distance of Bakewell. Beds were incredibly comfortable with the best duvets ever. Parking permit was invaluable. Property worked well for us, two en-suite bedrooms enabled us to take a friend who had total privacy. Would highly recommend this property.

This was our 2nd stay at Heather Cottage and like our first we couldn't fault it. It was very homely, fully equipped with everything you need, in fact it was like home from home. The beds were very comfortable too. The position was ideal for walking into the delightful town. Very good restaurants, in fact we returned to Piedaniels again this visit. only a few minutes walk. The quality of the meal was lovely, the staff very friendly and the surroundings very comfortable. We also went to the Woodyard, in fact it was so good the first night we returned again the next night. The cottage is very well placed to visit Chatsworth House, Heights of Abraham and Haddon Hall, and many more interesting places. no more than 30 mins drive. Carolyn and Richard are a very friendly and helpful couple and made us feel very much at home. All in all a very pleasant few days away.

Excellent property for our stay (three generations). Having a car parking permit was a real asset. We had everything we needed in the cottage and hope to return next year. The situation in Bakewell is very good and there is so much to do and see in the area.

We stayed at Carolyn's place for 4 nights and it was lovely. The cottage is full of character and was more spacious than I'd expected, both bedrooms are big and each has its own bathroom. There are lots of thoughtful touches that made the stay effortless, well stocked bathrooms and kitchen in particular. It's a short and easy stroll into Bakewell with lovely shops and cafes and places to relax by the riverside

Great location close to town centre. Very clean and comfortable. Hosts were very helpful and property was warm and cozy and overall better than I expected. Would definitely recommend

A charming cottage indeed. Spacious bedrooms - each en suite. Comfy sofas for chilling in the evening. A well equipped kitchen with added extras such as tea and coffee, dishwasher tabs etc. Loads of great pubs right on the doorstep, nice shops and AMAZING countryside and walks right from the doorstep. We had a super time. Can’t wait to revisit . Enjoy!
