We love the area and stayed in Glenbrook before so this villa we thought would be perfect. However, as we were arriving in the spring, the mornings and evenings can be chilly. We paid almost $400 dollars for pool and spa heat for 2 weeks. For the first week we barely had any. The second week we had to email the owner daily and ask to put the spa on with the heat, you then have to hope he isn’t ’in a ‘meeting’ or busy at work and he sees the message otherwise you have to wait until he is ready! It would go on for about 90 mins then nothing the rest of the day, the pool did get so cold until later in the day, you couldn’t stay in it in the morning. The owner is the only one that can control when you have the heat, he turns it on when he thinks you want it, if you don’t jump in the spa\pool there and then you loose it for the remainder of the day/night. It’s like our time in the pool/spa was dictatcted by the owner!! A lot of the time he couldn’t connect via the internet as it went down several times a day, we had to keep rebooting it. We had to wait in twice for the internet guy, for nothing to change! The main bed, was VERY creaky and noisy and well over due renewal. The sofas are well worn, your butt falls so deep into it, it’s hard to get out of the seat. The bath was so slippery, I fell getting out of the bath/shower on had an almighty bruise on my leg. I also slipped again in the shower and slammed my little toe on the plug, taking away my toe nail and convinced I’d broken my toe… luckily it wasn’t. The villa doesn’t have a walk in shower and for someone with mobility issues (like myself) was really inappropriate and dangerous. There is a 4 slice toaster but the left 2 only toasted one side of the bread. A new toaster is needed. The cleanliness was something to be desired. The pool decking was filthy, and it was embarrassing when the internet guy pulled out the sofa, it was full of dirt, dust and something very sticky, making it clear it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. All the issues we were having it was far from a relaxing holiday having to email the owner on a daily basis, many several times a day on many occasions. On returning home, I asked the owner for a partial refund on the pool heat as we barely had any. The owner had the ordacity to accuse us of adding a ‘substance’ to the pool making it ‘milky’. I have never been so insulted in my life! After several days of constant emails, he returned just $30 for the lack of heat (one days worth)!!! We have been to Florida every year for about ten years and never had an experience like this. This is by far the worst property we have stayed in and won’t be returning.
