We had a fabulous break at Hyem. The cottage is absolutely lovely and had everything we needed. Rothbury is a fantastic place to stay and close to Cragside and Alnwick too. Parking is available close by and we never struggled for a space. We would definitely recommend and would happily stay again.

We loved the property and surrounding area. The house was warm and welcoming and with different "spaces" to it. The kitchen was a joy to cook in and very spacious , we could have benefitted from an electric blender, but otherwise the kitchen was amply supplied. The views from the house were lovely and the local walks beautiful. The village of Rotherbury was a delight and we enjoyed shopping in the independant shops. We had looked forward to an evenings entertainment for new year between the gof club dance and local pubs...but ended up with colds! It is defintely a house and area I would recommend to a couple, family group, or friends.

Had a really lovely week in Rothbury. River Neuk is perfectly placed tucked behind the main street. You have great walks up the river straight outside your door. The property itself is really well equipped & we were extremely comfortable there. Some really thoughtful treats were left for us. Hope to come again in the future.

Very spacious & generally comfortable, though we found the double bed a little soft for us. Otherwise excellent; possibly the most well-equipped self-catering accommodation we have stayed in.

Everything was 5 star including the welcome hamper. It was a quiet village, with a few shops and pubs. There are plenty of walks for warm evenings. The A1 is a mile away, so very easy to get anywhere and the bus stop is 20 yards away (1hour to Newcastle).

Cottage lovely + spacious bed comfortable. Disappointed in views as tall hedge surrounding the cottage + it's position behind house. Best views at front of house would consider one of the apartments if came back. Very quiet Rothbury a nice little town plenty places to eat recommend Sun lunch at Turks Head. Easy to get to numerous local towns/attractions.

We used Riverside Cottage as the perfect base to explore Northumberland. Easy access to the A1 and coastal routes. It is located directly on St Oswald Way, so perfect for early morning dog walks. The cottage is well equipped, the bed was comfortable. Outside space is limited but you don’t need it because of the location. Good quality pub close by, amazing bakery over the road and small village shop. Parking is close by. There were always plenty of spaces. Finally the welcome pack was fantastic. Bread milk, eggs and luxury bakery items. I would stay in this property again.

We had a lovely week at River Neuk. It was our first stay in this flat and it was perfect. There was a marvellous hamper awaiting us and beautiful flowers. The flat was very clean and quiet with everything we could need and ideal for my elderly mother as everything all on one level. Excellent communication with the owner, nothing too much trouble, would love to return one day
