This was simply the best holiday I've ever stayed in! It is very clear that the accomodation has been decorated and looked after with care and attention. We felt right at home, also helped by the pleasant communication with the host and the thoughtful welcome package :) 10/10 would recommend!

Sadly didn’t live up to the luxury title. In photos of the property on air bnb and other sites there are two showers but on arrival there was only one as the en-suite shower had been removed above the bath. This was hard with five adults having only one shower. The only shower that was there needs a good clean as grout mouldy and the bath mat provided was heavily moulded and black so really not very nice. The 2.5 acres of ground was not to be - a lot of it was overgrown and unusable. The lawn in front of the property was the only usable bit but was taken over by rabbit warrens. No BBQ despite being listed on Air BnB. We messaged the owner to ask about this but no response. Kitchen was well equipped but would be nice to have coffee left along with teabags. However the kitchen was well equipped and lovely views from the upstairs bedroom.

We used the cottage as a base for accessing both the coast and the rural hills and mountains. This was a perfect location for both. We enjoyed our time at the cottage and the village of Rothbury. If we are in the area again we would definitely look to book again.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at River View (and we also stayed in one of the other apartments in this building on another occasion). Aside from having friends in the area and it being in a good location halfway between 2 sets of family, it is a testament to the high quality of River View that we keep coming back. The views from the property over the Coquet valley are spectacular, it is quiet and peaceful yet only 15 minutes' walk from the town with its range of independent shops/eating places. There is lots to see and do in the area including scenic walks/National Trust and other houses and gardens/museums/pristine beaches etc. What makes River View really special, apart from its location, is the overall quality of the accommodation. There are comfortable sofas, Smart TV, reliable wifi, selection of DVDs, books, games, jigsaws and high quality children's toys in the spacious lounge; good-size dining table and sturdy chairs in the huge kitchen diner, and excellent facilities in the kitchen itself. Apart from all the usual appliances it has lots of china and cutlery, so there is no need to keep putting the dishwasher on for small loads; there is also a plentiful supply of plastic cups/bowls/cutlery for children. On arrival, as well as milk, there was a very generous selection of baked goods both sweet and savoury. The beds are extremely comfortable with good quality bedding and towels. Everything was spotlessly clean. This property is both child-friendly and dog-friendly, and has been a lovely base for members of our family to stay with us as well as time for the 2 of us to just enjoy the space and relaxing area on our own. Everything about this 'home from home' suits us very well - from the booking process to the excellent communication with the management office hosted by Andrew. When we were originally looking for somewhere to stay in this area, and first saw the property photos online we thought 'oh wow' - and can assure potential future guests that walking through the door that the reality is even better!

Our 2nd time at H’yem and 3rd to Rothbury. The property was super clean and well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. No vehicular access but parking close by as is the river walk and children’s playground. The Property welcomes dogs and although no gated garden the shared courtyard proved no problem for our pooch. Dog walks and bins are right on the doorstep. Neighbours and locals were all very friendly and welcoming. The small town has everything you could need. Bakers and butchers come highly recommended, especially the cream filled scones and steak and ale pies. Coop and Londis have other essentials. The Italian restaurant does lunchtime deals and the pizzas from Little Italy are authentic and delicious. There are 3 public houses which serve food and a fish and chip shop, so no need to self cater. Northumberland has much so offer and Rothbury and H’yem are both gems.

We had a lovely weeks stay at River Neuk. This is our second stay and we’ll be definitely going again. It’s a very comfortable and well appointed air bnb and a lovely welcome basket is very much appreciated. It’s central for visiting the surrounding area and lots of places to eat on the doorstep.

very good stay, everything you needed was there. en suite in the downstairs bedroom was a definite bonus! location was excellent in the center of the village with plenty of on street parking. even though you were in the center it was very quiet.

Lovely, comfortable accommodation. Had everything that you would need for a self catering holiday. Great location too with shops, restaurants, pub etc pretty much on your doorstep. Rothbury is a lovely village, within easy reach of other towns and villages like Alnwick. Would highly recommend the area and this property.

We had a fabulous break at Hyem. The cottage is absolutely lovely and had everything we needed. Rothbury is a fantastic place to stay and close to Cragside and Alnwick too. Parking is available close by and we never struggled for a space. We would definitely recommend and would happily stay again.
