About

Twenty years ago, we finally released our dream and myself, Ian, Jeannie my wife and our two girls set off from England for our new life on the warm and sunny island of Crete. We had already purchased a plot of land with a house and one acre of orchard, delicious navel oranges. It took over a year to overcome the paperwork and legalities connected with our purchase but then we were able to start our huge project. The gardens and villas slowly took shape, each year bringing exciting changes as the trees and plants matured. The result is now three villas set in beautiful gardens. Having been to Greece on previous occasions we wanted to make the accommodation spacious. A large bathroom was a must and raised sun terraces were top priority. We wanted to create individual privacy without being isolated and a pool that you could really swim in, We are very fortunate that we are only a short distance from Chania, the principal town, and we also determined be affordably priced, a place for people to relax. We aim to create integrity and customer care. We are here, on site, for the duration of your stay to make sure everything runs smoothly for you.

We enjoyed an amazing 7 nights at Jasmine Villa, part of the Crete Retreat villa complex. What a fantastic green oasis Ian created in the arid Crete. Amazing big swimming pool and all amenities to have a perfect family vacation. Rob, who's managing the property, goes above and beyond to help you with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommended and will come back for sure!

Wonderful setting for Jasmine Cottage - well maintained lovely gardens. Good size pool. Accommodation basic but sufficient for our needs. Good communication with owner. Location a bit out of tourist areas and difficult to find initially but Chania, Historical areas, walks and lovely beaches easily accessible. Car a necessity

photos on the site appear to be out of date. owner tells us he will be doing work on the villa during closed season, it does need updating. dont have a problem with pets, 4 dogs and 3 cats, but they do seem to like to drink and swim in the pool, we not over keen on sharing pool with animals. Ian easy to talk to and can pass on information about some of the local shops such as supermarkets and butchers etc., Ian did clean the pool every day but the wind didn't help as it would keep blowing more leaves into the pool. be prepared with citronella type candles as you can get infested with biting insects, you can put your hand through the gap of the front door and wall, easy access for insects. had a visit from a praying mantis one night. fully equipped kitchen with cooker, washing machine and dishwasher very helpful, but be careful what you have running together. the cooker was old and slow.

Thank you for your review. We realise that our advertised photo is out of date, which is why since July we have had the drone video of the villa and gardens to ensure an authentic representation of the villas and grounds. Our natural environment, which includes pets, is part of our unique green experience. The electricity supply does come under pressure when there is a high demand locally which makes cooking time a little longer, and so we suggest the use of our gas grill/oven as an alternative. Our aim in our adverts and website is to communicate an accurate picture of our villas for our guest to make an informed choice.

The owner was very friendly and communicative - he was on site to answer all our questions. The property itself was clean and contained all that was necessary for a pleasant and peaceful holiday.

Very nice villa, with large swimming pool. The house we had, the closest to the swimming pool (what isn't a problem in termes of noise/intimacy), is clean and well équiped (except a micro wave everything is provided). Many beaches around (5 to 15 minutes by car) were you CAN park very easily. Ian was very kind and helpfull, don't Forget to ask him where the Fish shop is: Nice fresh fish you can have on the barbecue! You definitely need a car, I would advise not to rent through the typical rental sites but ask Ian for greek adresses, much cheaper ( auto-rental.gr...) If interested with boating, rental is possible in mathary With notosmare.com, ir's really worth it !! We ´ll come back !

Very nice and comfortable villa in beautifully planted and well maintained gardens. The best pool of any villa I have stayed in. Ian the owner very helpful and friendly. Our stay was slightly spoilt by the wifi which worked only 10% of the time in the week we were there. This was apparently a regular problem but not one due to any fault of the owners, rather the quality of internet service in Crete. Hopefully this problem will be fixed for 2017.

Greece is investing in internet communications, so hopefully this will get better.

The villa is surrounded by a very nice and well kept garden. The large pool is surrounded by grass which Ian (the owner) in good English takes great care with his wife and it is very pleasant to sit and cool off in the shade of trees. Ian is always available to help without disturbing. The house equipment is a little too short and when we passed the WIFI worked poorly. The residence entrance is poorly marked and relatively hard to find. The villa is located near Souda, typical small town without tourists and near the well known resort of Hania. Beautiful beaches around but the best require a little car. Overall we recommend.

Ottima soluzione per muoversi nella prefettura di Chania. Il proprietario Ian è stato gentilissimo.

Ian the owner is a very nice man but his directions to get to his property are terrible. The address given takes you to someone else's house close by. The property is beautiful and well kept but is hidden away and he has no signage to indicate that you are there. We spent 45 minutes try to find the place and actually drove right by it once before we had to call and he came up to the main street to find us. Our villa was nice enough but had a fine layer of dust over everything. There also were cobwebs in most every corner. We pointed this out to him and he did take care of this while we went out to eat.

Hi Satnav location takes you to nearest road point to villa and not the car park. The map and directions we give you needs to be followed with SATNAV We are in a dry and dusty country, and windows are left open for circulation.
