Firstly on the positive side we thought the villa very pretty, lovely garden and lovely pool. Bedrooms spacious and comfortable with plenty of linen and extra towels provided. The bathrooms were clean and functional. We had quick and friendly response for any maintenance problems.
Unfortunately however there are some negative issues which has meant that we didnt in the end feel the villa was good value. The kitchen is in dire need of an updat e. More importantly though, all the cupboards, cooking equipment, utensils, glasses and crockery etc. were greasey and dirty and had to be washed before use. The dishwasher does not do an efficient job so much of this was done by us by hand. There is not enough cutlery and cooking knives and most of it is well worn and needs replacing. The bottom shelf of the fridge door keeps falling out. The freezer drawers were all broken. The washing machine door came off in my hand when I opened it (this was replaced very swiftly by your maintenance people). There is inadequate seating in the living room for 6 people (just 2 x 2-seater sofas). There are no cushions for the sun beds. The BBQ looks as if it has never been cleaned and a health and safety risk - we did not use it. The pool shower was not functioning. The washing lines were set up over the lawn where the sprinkling system comes on early every morning which re-soaks any washing drying over night. There was insufficient information about the area supplied. A map of the suburb in relation to Chiclana centre would have been helpful as it is very easy to get lost.
Despite all of this we managed to have an enjoyable week. The garden and pool really is lovely and it is great to have a private drive and off street parking. But it is disappointing to start ones holiday spring cleaning a kitchen.
We cannot fault the service we had in terms of pool maintenance, gardeners (who came within 24 hours to tie up a climbing plant that had been blown off the wall and across the driveway during high winds) etc.
