This property was everything we hoped for and more. It was well tucked away in a small town south west of Fidenza. The accommodation was really great. It had the charm of an old style farm house and was very clean and well-appointed with all mod cons and all of the appliances worked very well. The rooms were very spacious including the bathroom. We did not at any stage run out of hot water and the washing machine and dish washer worked very well. The WiFi had a very strong signal particular inside. The telephone signal was variable but could generally get a signal. We used the Bar B Q and the outdoor wood fired oven and both worked well. We had the advantage of the solitude and the ability to explore the hills, parks, farms and little villages in our local area as well as comfortable day trips to Parma, Modena and Bologna. We also did 4 overnight trips (2 to Verona and Cinque Terra by car plus Milan by train), but were always excited to get back to our farm house. The lunch at “Antica Corta Pallavicina” was “a bucket list” occasion and less than an hour away. The local towns of lugangano Val d’Arda and Castell.Arquato provided very well for our daily needs. We all agreed this was a fantastic experience. You do need a car to be able to really enjoy this area. This was a great experience in a great property. I have no hesitation recommending it and can be contacted at peter@hmval.com.au.

The house, which contains two apartments, has been very nicely restored, the fittings and appliances are fine and the views are lovely. It is however very remote – on the edge of a small village with no amenities and the nearest shops are a good 15 minutes away by car. Indeed, to reach the house and get anywhere, a car is essential. The complimentary case of wine was appreciated but we would have been happier if there had been toilet paper, washing-up liquid, and more than two reasonably sized mugs. There was comfortable seating for only three people and the bedroom furniture could not have been more basic. The boiler was temperamental, resulting in unexpectedly cold showers, and when it did fire, the external vent sent fumes up though the open bathroom window. There was a random selec tion of leaflets and brochures but no information pack to help with settling in and finding local shops, restaurants etc. Bottom line: OK as a base for touring but the place is let down by a lack of attention to important detail.

Loved this villa. Situated right at the edge of a small village high in the hills surrounded by woods, it has everything you could wish for when you want to get away from it all. Inside the house was beautiful, more than enough space for the 5 of us who stayed. We loved to spend the evenings on the balcony eating and chatting. The garden is quite extensive and the owner lets you take any fruit, veg or herbs you want. There is a barbecue and a pizza oven outside which we had great fun trying out. Would definitely recommend this villa and look forward to returning ourselves in the future.

A very nice and carefully restored house. The finish was very good. The house was placed in lovely surroundings up in the hills. It was a good position for trips to Parma/Bologna//Milano//Cinque Terre and some other places. The landlord was very friendly and show great concern. We strongly recommend this house.

One of our best holidays. A car is essential (we drove down, which added to the holiday) and you really must spend time at the local markets. Beautiful, peaceful and yet we were able to travel to Milan, Florence and the sea with little hassle. A stunning place.

Poggio di Castelletto is a beautiful home with a wonderful garden in a very small village surrounded by beautiful green and lush hills. The pictures really do not reflect the beauty or personality of the home and the area or the quality and workmanship used in its renovation. It provided all the conveniences that a visitor could want or might find in a modern hotel, but offers so much more in character and atmosphere. We had a very busy itinerary so the time we spent out on the balcony or on the plaza, just enjoying the peace and quiet and the sounds of nature were priceless. The location was idealremote enough to provide serenity for those with a less hectic travel plan, yet close enough to the surrounding towns to provide places for dinner, shopping, and not too far to use as a base to some of the larger attractions that a tourist may be interested in. The hosts Frank and Gabby are wonderful people willing to provide whatever help they can to make your stay enjoyable.

This property is absoultly stunning, in a beautiful area of Italy, a perfect base for seeing the sites of Emilia Romania. The house is beautifully finished with a rustic charm, it has its own fruit and vegatable garden, which the owners are happy for you to use, the gardens a pretty and well kept. The house is situated in a small village with lots of fantastic restaurants and bars close by (within a short drive). Theres a local super market close by which have all the necessities. The owners are really friendly and helpful and speak amazing english. The even left us some home made wine to try, and were helpful in telling us the best places to visit. The house is split into 2 stunning apartments, we stayed in the ground floor apartment which is perfect for our young family. We had a truly perfect holiday, seeing all the sights and spending time in a simply tranquill, beautiful house in italy.

This House is very nice and very in the country side, we found the house very clean and with towels and sheets provided, we really enjoyed our stay there and used the Pizza oven, the BBQ and the surrounding yard/deck area is superb for outdoor eating and for small kids to play around in a private and safe area. It has too a wonderfull garden which is ideal for children to play in, its surrounding are very quiete and very pleasent and very nice for a walk early in the morning. It is of utmost importance to have a car to get there and around. The house is situated in the middle of Italy so while we where there we visited, Milan, Parma, Modena/ the Ferrari Site, Lake garda and its surroundings, Gardaland,Bolonga, Piacenza and even Genoa and the wonderfull Portofino. This house is very nice and we will be returning back some time!
