149 year old, nostalgic, Artistic Villa with SWIMMING POOL . Outside kitchen, lounge, and hanging bed. 10 mins from Beach. In many magazines.
Luscious garden that is located at a hidden place at the edge of an old authentic village close by Rhodes. It has an outside living area, with outside kitchen, lounge, hanging bed, big dining table, and luscious, green and colorful garden. The house has 2 guest houses, 1 with double bed and an adjacent bathroom next to it reachable from outside, and one with double bed, kitchenette and bathroom. There are 2 verandas: one upstairs that is used as an outdoor house/living, with kitchenette outside, a hanging double bed, a lounging area and a big dining area. and one down at the pool area that is mainly for lounging and sunbathing. The house is an old family property and one has to take into consideration that nothing is like it is in western and northern Europe: the walls are not straight but very thick against the heat and the floors are very unstraight, but this is at the same time the most charming thing about Greece and what everyone wants in his escape from the western and straight society (at least i did): to unstraighten out, and to unwind and relax, and that's just what this beautiful colorful artistic villa is all about: living the Greek life but in a very stylish way.
the house has 6 double beds in different rooms, 1 double bed in the living room, high on a raised wooden platform, reachable with a stairs, and with curtains in the front (there is a door in front of it, so a child of 4-5 years could sleep here as well). and 3 single beds: 2 are high sleepers in the kids rooms, and should be for children over 4-5 years. and 2 is on a high raised platform each, in the living room with its own stairs and curtains in front. Those bed are also for kids at least 5-6 years.
Our party was two couples in our mid mid-fifties.
We have all traveled extensively and have spent time working overseas. Weve rented many houses in quite a few countries and this property stands out as being quite special. One of the best houses weve rented in our travels. Our hosts were lovely folks to deal with and wed not hesitate to recommend this property.
The one short coming was that when using the outdoor BBQ one of the neighbors would yell about the smoke it produced. We were assured that many BBQed in the neighborhood and that it was the neighbor, and not our BBQ, which was out of line ! Reality is that there are folks like that everywhere in the world and I would not let that put you off from renting this truly beautiful property. I just thought it was worth mentioning so you would not be surprised the first time you lit the gorgeous outdoor stone BBQ.

Our stay in Dream House was wonderfulalthough too short!! Were already dreaming of our next visit to Greece. Gudrun and Yiorgos were extremely nice and helpful throughout our stay. Their wonderful hospitality was extremely appreciated as we were making our first holiday with our infant son. They made sure we had everything we needed for him throughout our stay. My only regret about the villa was that the pool was unheated, making the water much too cold to enjoy given the what I understand was below average temperatures we encountered in early October. Again, a fantastic place to stay in a wonderful Rhodian village, just an easy drive to Rhodes Town.

We have just come back from the most wonderful 10 days at The Dreamhouse, which is entirely deserving of the name! The whole place, which is beautifully decorated and full of character, has a super atmosphere - even to the extent of having a bush adjoining the main patio which miraculously emits a wonderful scent at dusk. The walled garden is beautiful and the non-chloric pool ideal for a lazy day. The ancient city of Rhodes is a 15-20 minute drive, whilst there are numerous sandy beaches in the other direction. The village centre location was ideal for nipping out to the local restaurants, bars and small general goods store. We cannot recommend this villa too highly!

This is a authentic, stunning villa in a non touristic part of Rhodes yet very close to all the action. The home is gorgeous, lots of private spaces,a fabulous pool and very welcoming landlords. They also organised the car for us and gave us some great tips for our holiday. we where only with 4 adults and 1 toddler but the home is large with some additional nanny flats attached. The garden is just luscious with lots of shady places, plants, lounge corners and cooking facilities. The home is a truly original piece with lots of character and history, nothing like your everyday holiday villas. We where sad to leave this child friendly stunner and wholeheartedly recommend this home to those that value authenticity and luxury..
About the owner
I am Yiorgos Stavridis, born and raised in Rhodes. I am a real estate agent, but i have also always been working with building houses. I have renovated a lot of ruins and old houses, and have built many new houses as well, but always in the old Greek fashion the way is so dear to me. The Dream house is a project that i have been busy with for a long time now, each year upgrading and improving every aspect of it. It is a property that dates from the year 1866, when my ancestors built it. It has been in my family ever since, and recently been passed on to me, after which i made it into the dream property it is now.
