Villas in Hvar
Hvar Island is located along the sunny Dalmation Coast and is an idyllic villa holiday location. Hvar Town is a picturesque and stylish Venetian port, with a palm-lined quayside. Enjoy the traffic-free town centre, and watch from a café in the beautiful square overlooking the harbour as luxury yachts glide in and out. Historical sites abound in the stunning town; a castle, 14th century palazzo, a cathedral, a Franciscan monastery. Away from the attractions, don’t miss out on the narrow back streets with their independent shops and idiosyncratic galleries. The town of Stari Grad on the northern side of the island is the oldest town in Croatia, in part a Greek settlement of 400 BC, and lies at the bottom of a beautiful long bay, sheltered by dense woodland.
Beyond the towns, the rest of the island is relatively untouched by tourism and offers a stunning holiday villa setting. Travel inland to wander amongst vineyards, or take in the scent of the purple lavender fields that coat much of the gently rolling hillside, along with meadows dotted with wild flowers and asparagus, or head to the shoreline for rocky coves and silkily sandy beaches.
