The Best Beaches In Fuerteventura For Families

Fuerteventura is a great location for a family holiday, with a pleasant mix of hustle and bustle alongside quiet spots.Take a look at these beaches and find the perfect one for you and your family. 

1 Grandes Playas

One of the most popular beaches in all of Fuerteventura, Grandes Playas is a vibrant beach of aqua-blue waters and beautiful golden sand. What makes it particularly popular with families is not only its loveliness, but the great amenities close by, including various eateries and cafes, not to mention sun loungers and toilet facilities. It’s also well-known for various water activities including kitesurfing and sailing.

2 Cofete Beach

Known for its soft honey-coloured sand and gentle waters, this idyllic looking beach is great for those families looking for a quieter day out. It’s perfect for long walks, sunbathing and enjoying some fantastic scenery, not to mention giving younger children ample opportunity to build sandcastles! There isn’t much in the way of amenities here, so be sure to take plenty of food and drink  with you.

3 Esmeralda Beach

Well-known for being nicely sheltered and for its shallow waters, this beach makes for a great place for families to take their younger children swimming.  It’s very pretty and relaxed, as well as being a nudist beach, but don’t worry there’s no pressure to join in!

4 Playa de la Barca

This beach is best for water-based activities and thus is especially great for slightly older children, with activities including paddle-boarding, surfing and windsurfing. It’s also a beautiful beach to look at and ideal for soaking up some sun with your family, but there aren’t many facilities around so be sure to plan ahead!

5 Caleta de Fuste

Sitting right by the marina this wonderful beach has great amenities close by including restaurants, shops and cafes, meaning you don’t have to carry food and drink with you. As for the beach itself,  it’s a pretty sandy cove that has plenty of sun-loungers and space to relax and enjoy the sun. It also plays host to plenty of water-based activities and has a vibrant atmosphere. It’s best to get there early as it can get busy so bear that in mind!
