Independent Apartment in a two-family house obtained from the restoration of a medieval mill situated in a valley of the Casentino.
Just before the village of Talla (1.5 km) lies this medieval mill in a romantic side valley. The very original vacation home (detached semi-detached house) is something for individualists: you enter the living area on the 1st floor - rustic kitchen, living room with open fireplace - via a covered natural stone staircase; two bedrooms are one floor higher. In front of the house there is a large, well-kept plot with a private pool area; barbecue and pizza oven with a large covered terrace; plenty of space for people and animals to run around as well as a volleyball court and table tennis. The mill also has various water basins, watercourses and a small pond for fishing - all well secured. The friendly owner, who lives in the other half of the house (with a separate driveway), can activate the old mill wheel and will be happy to show you how the grain is ground.
You can taste local wines or take part in a guided tour of the vineyards at the neighboring wine farm. Discover the charming towns, castles and borghi of Casentino, such as Bibbiena (15 km) or Poppi (20 km) and be sure to visit the impressive Franciscan monastery of La Verna. The Casentino Nature Park invites you to go hiking, trekking and biking in the mountains, through centuries-old oak and beech forests. Visit and experience the medieval old town of Arezzo (25km) - e.g. while strolling through the Corso, visiting the cathedral, Pieve and church of San Francesco, which are well worth seeing, and of course enjoying an aperitif in the piazza. Numerous trattorias offer local delicacies. In June and September, the traditional Saraceno equestrian games take place in Piazza Grande; on the first weekend of every month, the entire old town comes alive with the large national antiques market. In Talla (1.5 km) you will find everything for your daily needs - groceries, bar, pharmacy, restaurant.
