A very relaxed and pleasant stay in a very well appointed gite in a beautiful setting. Julian and Nigel are excellent hosts, they do not intrude on you in any way but are always on hand to give help and advice when required. This was our third visit and hopefully not our last.

Wonderful! The property has amazing gardens, great wildlife and magnificent views of the Pyrenees. We took advantage of the great heated swimming pool (owing to the time of year our kids still benefitted from wetsuits) but an un-heated pool would have been far too cold. The location is remote and very private but within decent driving distance are some excellent towns and activities. Nigel and Julian were extremely helpful, communicative and friendly being on hand should anything require their assistance but allowing space and privacy. Many thanks

We originally booked this holiday for May 2020, but due to COVID had to rearrange several times. Julian was very helpful and readily agreed changes each time with no hassle. The property is idyllic and perfect location to relax and recharge your batteries. Plenty of historic French Villages to explore and within easy reach of the foothills of the Pyrenees. Julian is the perfect host and we would recommend his property.

Lovely remote place to stay, car hire essential. Good location to explore the area. Hosts were helpful and knowledgable of the surrounding area. Gite was clean and very well equipped with all the essentials needed for a self-catering family holiday. Kids loved the pool, nice grounds, a great holiday, would happily go back.

We stayed at the domaine 8 years ago and vowed to come back. Since our first visit, Julian and Nigel, who are perfect hosts, have made numerous improvements to the domaine, including the refit of L'Ostalet into a very well appointed gites. The surrounding area is as beautiful as ever with a number of lovely small towns and villages in east reach, not to mention the beautiful countryside with the Canal du Midi to the North and the Pyrenees to the South. We'll be back!

This was the finest property we have stayed in our travels in France and Spain this last 2 months. Julian and Nigel were very welcoming and their place was exactly as described. Absolutely stunning! Loustalbeau was very tastefully decorated and the linens where of fine quality, the bed was very comfortable with big fluffy pillows. The towels are large and the shower was delightful and clean. The views across the fields and pastures to the snow capped Pyrenees were spectacular and we enjoyed spending time on the terrace in the afternoon sun. The surroundings were a real pleasure to stroll around or go for an energetic walk. We would highly recommend Julian and Nigel’s place for short or longer stay. Brian and Joan Stewart Naramata, BC. My wife, daughter and I had a wonderful week at Le Domaine de Loustalviel / L'Ostalet. The reception rooms, kitchen and master bedroom / bathroom are spacious, comfortable and well appointed, particularly the kitchen if you like to cook. The rear garden is private and catches the sun for most of the day. The upstairs room is accessed from the living room via a spiral staircase and is most suitable for children. The shared pool is very large and well maintained while the poolside area is spacious and clean with plenty of sun loungers and shaded areas. The setting is lovely with countryside all around and views of the Pyrenees. You will need a car for shopping / restaurants and if you wish to explore the local area, which is full of history with plenty of castles and churches to visit; we especially enjoyed Carcassonne, Mirapoix, Foix and Castelnaudry. We spent our last day in Toulouse, which we thoroughly enjoyed with beautiful architecture and a delicious / good value lunch with wonderful service at Le Restaurant (http://www.lerestauranttoulouse.fr). Julian and Nigel are great hosts, helpful and attentive. They also sell some lovely local wines, which is a great bonus. We particularly enjoyed Domaine Gayda and subsequently visited the vineyard where we had a very enjoyable tasting. Overall, Le Domaine de Loustalviel is one of the best places we have stayed.

The directions to Loustalviel were excellent and we managed to find the property easily - not always our experience in France. Although we arrived early, we were made to feel welcome. We had pre-booked a meal with Nigel & Julian for our first evening and had a very enjoyable time - helped by their own cocktail mix. The accommodation was just as described and was very light and airy. At one stage we had a small problem with a light but it was sorted immediately. Julian & Nigels domaine is in a beautiful setting. It is very peaceful with lots of wildlife around. The pool is one of the best we have ever used. We found the information book provided to be very helpful and ate in many of the places recommended. We will never forget having lunch out on a terrace watching the nesting storks. We would have no hesitation in recommending LoustalBeau to friends and family.
