Villa overview - owner's description

Villa D’Louca was built by Cetin Beyazoglu of the Dalyan Estate Company Star Emlak and completed in September 2004. The site was originally part of a cotton farm and the front garden (some 1800sq meters) is now planted with pomeganate trees.

The villa is situated along the Iztuzu Beach Road approximately 1.3miles(2KM) from the centre of town. In the opposite direction some 6 miles(10KM) is the beautiful Iztuzu Beach (to view a map click here) . There are several restaurants within a few hundred metres either way. If however you prefer a greater selection of restaurants and bars a walk to the centre of town is flat and level and will take about 20 minutes, a cab will pick you up and be in the town centre in a couple of minutes, cost for four approximately 15 YTL with tip about £5.00p !

Car & Bike Hire

You do not need to have an international licence to drive in Turkey. All foreign licences are valid in Turkey.

Kaunos Tours is also the local Europcar office in Dalyan, Turkey and they offer car hire with all the usual Europcar benefits and assurance. They have a variety of cars and jeeps and provide many other services such as other office drop off and baby seats. They also provide roof racks. As a Europcar agent they are also hiring mobile phones so you can keep in touch with friends and family at home.

Kaunos Tours cars can be hired with full crash damage waiver insurance, windscreen and tyre insurance and medical and personal injury cover. They are all regularly serviced and cared for.

Because Kaunos Tours have been running local tours for 20 years, we can inform you of all the places you can visit when you have the freedom of a car.

They are four mountain bikes available to you at the villa but Kaunos Tours can also offer additional bikes.

The Dalyan Channel, through which water circulates between the Mediterranean and Köycegiz Lake slowly meanders, forming a network of small lakes and waterways through reed beds rising to between 3 and 5 metres in height. (The journey through this natural labyrinth is romantic and mysterious) With its mixture of fresh and salt water, these wetlands have become home to vast numbers of fish and other water life, as well as the birds of many species which feed on them. Dividing the sea from the delta is the Iztuzu sandbar stretching for 5km east from the mouth of the channel.

With its fine crystal sand, shallow turquoise sea and abundant sunshine, Iztuzu beach is the ideal seaside spot, perfect for swimming for 7 months of the year. It is this beach to which the endangered Mediterranean turtle Caretta Caretta has returned year after year to lay its eggs since time immemorial.

I stayed at Villa D'louca April 2017. I had a great stay at the villa with my 3 children(ages 8,4,2). It was easy to find with the directions and map from the owner. The villa itself was clean and had fresh linen put down. There was a water dispenser which meant we didn’t have to buy bottled water. The pool was cleaned every morning whilst we were asleep so no disruptions to our sleep or fun. At this time of year the weather is still warming up so the pool is a bit cool, but I knew this from staying before in previous years, plus the owner had warned me too! But the kids got in pretty much everyday without fail. They made use of the smaller shallower pool. The Wi-Fi is a big bonus for the villa with very good signal strength. The villa sits higher up so stairs lead up to the villa so you get great views of the mountains and the pool.
There’s a gas barbecue and terrace with a hammock on the other side leading off from all the bed rooms and kitchen/dining area. The sitting room leads onto another terrace with outdoor table and chairs.
Bathrooms were clean and there were plenty of towels provided. Everything that you would need whilst you were away was available in the villa. Crockery was plenty and you could load up the dishwasher without feeling like you were running out. Same for pots and pans when you were going to eat in.
All rooms had A.C., given the time of year we sometimes switched to heating especially after a session in the pool.
Nick the owner provided me with details of the villa after booking, he was also great with things like transfers and kaunos tours who look after the villa for him. He was great with responding to my numerous questions.

Better than the pictures show, spacious and Kaunos tours were excellent.

From Port Talbot

Villa d'Louca and Dalyan were absolutely wonderful. We were thrilled to see storks, little owls, terrapins - and numerous frogs. We loved the seclusion but found the walk into town (although only about 1.75k) very long in the heat, so would recommend car hire. We hired ours through Kaunos tours who are the agents for the villa and they were extrewmely helpful. Dalyan is beautiful; we didn't have one bad ( or even mediocre!) meal as the restaurants seem to go out of their way to please. We bought fruit and veg at the roadside for a ridculously cheap price and the supermakets and shops were reasonable too.Insect repellent is a must for the evenings as the mosquitos are a nuisance, but don't let that stop you - we'd go back to be bitten tomorrow if we could!

September 2013 What a wonderful holiday we have just returned from. Villa D’Louca is a home from home in a beautiful part of the world. From the start when we landed at Dalaman and were efficiently transferred (25 mins) to our home for the next 10 days, we were already in love with the place. As the car travelled up the country lane, past the palm trees and into the drive, we just knew we were going to have a fabulous time. The villa is spacious throughout and well thought out with air conditioning in every room, doors out to the terrace from each bedroom and the master bedroom being very roomy with an en-suite. I don’t think there was a single thing that wasn’t provided and we happily had a BBQ every other evening after visiting the very good butchers and green grocers in town. The shaded terrace with the huge Turkish cushions and hammock was a welcome break from the midday sun. The only problem was that we so wanted to read our books but were both so relaxed and chilled out, we kept falling asleep! We had our breakfast each morning out on the front terrace overlooking the pool, what a fantastic start to the day. The pool itself was in constant use. With the temperatures reaching 30 degrees most days, it was an absolute godsend. The gardeners and pool men from Kaunos Tours went quietly and quickly about their business and kept the facilities clean and tidy. It didn’t matter that we were out of town as we used the bikes every day to get around and explore. Every time we left the bikes in town, they were always there when we returned. A car was not required unless you wanted to travel further afield. The only time we needed to get taxis was when we did a big shop or were coming back late in the evening but they were very reasonable (15TL each way) and all the drivers knew their way there! We didn’t need the TV nor did we watch any of the DVD’s we brought with us and the WIFI service was better than ours at home! Not always necessary on holiday but we are in the process of buying a property so it was very useful in that respect. We went on the boat tour to Koycegiz Market, visiting the thermal springs and mud bath on the return, which was an absolutely wonderful day out especially for £12.00. This is on a Monday and an absolute must. We also went on the 12 Island Boat tour from Gocek, again one of the most chilled out days we spent, with swim stops at different bays and lunch on board. We met some lovely people and can highly recommend this. The remaining days, we spent happily sunbathing at the villa or taking the river taxi and dolmus to IztuzuBeach. Both options were great experiences and very reasonably priced as were the sunloungers and umbrellas on the beach. The restaurants and bars are plentiful. Our favourite restaurant was Atay opposite the main square, very traditional Turkish fare, we also liked the Dalyan Café for a quick snack. The locals are a friendly crowd who obviously have a very good rapport with all the holidaymakers that return to Dalyan year after year. I don’t think we met a single person that had a bad word to say about the resort and most people made it their holiday destination year after year. I think that this speaks for itself. Thank you Nick and Monique for letting us share your beautiful Dalyan home and a little piece of paradise.

Dear Nick and Monique We're now back from Dalyan after spending two very relaxing weeks at your beautiful villa. As the weather was so hot many hours were spent cooling down in the pool and on the side terrace. It was most definitely one of the nicest holiday villas we have stayed in and all the decorative touches made it really homely. We particularly enjoyed eating on the terrace in the evening, watching the sun set and then waiting for the storks to settle on the pylons for the night. We didn't, in the end, all use the bikes, partly because the weather was so hot, but Phil cycled to the small shop down the road to buy bread daily for breakfast. Incidently, we were unable to locate the bike locks or infact any BBQ cooking utensils - but maybe we looked in the wrong places? We did walk into town quite a few times, which wasn't a problem, and hired taxies when we were feeling lazy (quite often!). Whilst there, the electricity meter was read and the bill handed to us, so this has been left in the large dish on the kitchen table. The alarm went off one evening when the sensor by the kitchen door fell on to the floor. It didn't sound for long and stopped when we put the sensor back together, but the red light as well as the green light is now lit up on the control panel. We mentioned both to Kaunos. Also, the lilo was punctured during our stay so we have replaced that. We will definitely recommend your villa to our friends and hope to be back some time ourselves. Thank you again for sharing your delightful villa with us. Best wishes Karen and Philip GascheEmily, Rebecca and James
