The beautiful, ancient town of Pollensa has so much to offer, and at Villa Denisa, it's all right on your doorstep. It really couldn't be easier to kick off a day of sightseeing, pop for groceries, or go for a meal at one of the town's many restaurants or bars. There's plenty here to see, including some stunning museums and churches and some incredible architecture. The town is small and easy to explore on foot, but be aware that it can be a steep and uneven walk, so good footwear is a must!
On sundays, the main square (Placa Major) is home to a bustling street market, where you'll be able to purchase fresh local produce such as fruits and vegetables, bread, meats and olive oil before heading to one of the many local bars or cafes for a hot coffee, refreshing juice, or a well-earned glass of delicious local wine.
A popular attraction with visitors to Pollensa is the Calvari Steps, which lead from the Placa Major to the top of the town, where you'll discover the beautiful little Church of Nostra Senyora dels Angels. At midday, the light spills through the church's gorgeous stained glass windows, which really is a sight to behold, but whatever time you visit, you'll be rewarded with this stunning building's intricate interior, as well as some incredible views over the town. The walk isn't an easy one - with over 300 steps! - so this might be best avoided if you're visiting with young children.
Another of Pollensa's most famous features is the Roman bridge over the Sant Jordi River. This pretty spot is the ideal place to stop and take a breather while you enjoy ice cream and take in an incredible atmosphere. No Mediterranean holiday is complete without a trip to the beach, and nearby Puerto Pollensa offers the nearest stretch of sand to Villa Denisa, less than fifteen minutes by car. There are several beaches to choose from, most featuring soft golden sands and calm waters, as well as offering dinghies, kayaks, umbrellas and sun loungers for hire.
