I have been a keen skier all my life and often thought about having my own space in the mountains. In 2014 I returned to Flaine/Grand Massif for the first time in 14 years and whilst there skied to Morillon 1100. That same year I began looking for an apartment to buy there. Itb took a year but I finally bought A13 Jardin Alpin in December 2015. Firstly the Grand Massif is a great ski are for all abilities and staying in Morillon is, in some ways much more convenient than actually staying in Flaine - it is a lot faster to get in and out for example. Also the villages of Les Carroz. Samoens and Sixt Fer-a-Cheval are much more interesting, and close by. The amenities in Morillon 1100 are very good, but larger shops are just "down the mountain" and Cluses, a sizeable town is only 30 mins away. The whole ski area is just stunningly beautiful. I have skied all over the Alps, in Switzerland, Austria, Italy and the US and none have better panoramas. The view of Mont Blanc alone is worth the trip! But if you do tire of the Grand Massif, then Chamonix, the massive Portes de Soleil area and Megeve are all within an hours drive. Finally if you also enjoy walking, mountain biking, white water rafting, pony trekking etc. then there always the summer too.
