The villa was unique and quite querky. Lots of hand made fittings and the bed was also unique. At least 4 foot high. The villa is totally enclosed so privacy is guaranteed, the pool is very welcoming from early morning until midnight. Facilities were very good the upstairs bathroom was modern , the downstairs bathroom another unique feature but functional. Try the outside shower for a change very refreshing. The external areas were large and used frequently, early mornings sat on the upstairs sitting area with a morning cup of tea were exceptional and peaceful. Gudrun and Mica called to introduce themselves and were always there if you need them. The village of Lahania is very quite and remote. The village has 3 tavernas and a small supermarket. We did not try any of the tavernas, however they did look welcoming. The supermarket is small but stocks most supplies. There are larger supermarkets within a short drive. We tried lots of tavernas in the local area the best by far was Pelecarnos in Vati exceptional food,good value and welcoming hosts. Lindos is about 3/4 hours drive away, this is a must for late afternoons and evening meals on the roof top restaurants, be warned though Lindos has its own micro climate and is usually 10 degrees warmer. Local beaches are pebbles, try further south and find your own very private sandy beach with calm seas. The furthest beach south, Prasonisi, a wind and kite surfers dream, the beach is split in two and the bottom parts has sun beds and parasols for families. Very clean and safe. if your holiday is for relaxation and recharging I thoroughly recommend not only the villa but the southern area of Rhodes.

Wonderful week in Lachania staying at Villa Helidoni.  We keep coming back to stay in Gudrun's houses as she provides a wonderful property with excellent service.  A delicious salad waiting in the fridge for us when we arrive, a beautiful, clean villa and pool, all in a lovely setting in a quiet village.  Thank you Gudrun for yet another super holiday.
