This is an exceptional property with a clean pool set in a large plot of land. Sitting under the tree just outside the kitchen area watching the sun go down is idyllic. Peace comes at a price as this is a quiet farming area and not near shops or bars etc., these have to be driven to. Depending on what you want this is a plus or minus. There is plenty of atmospheric accommodation inside the expertly restored Trullo. Stock up on some easily prepared food and the incredibly good local wine and chill out on site would be our recommendation, although the sights of Puglia are all within an hours drive or so. Tip for shopping in Alberobello, if you are going to buy clothes take lots of money.

What a gorgous place. The setting of the property is quiet and private, surrounded by olive orchards and fruit trees, the views over the countryside are lovely and far reaching, the pool was large, great fun and very clean (especially loved were the lilos which my neices - and we adults - enjoyed), the fruit trees when we visited were groaning under the figs which we ate everyday for breakfast, and the almonds kept dropping, reminding us to eat them. The interior of the house is very well-equipped, was well-cleaned and the mosquito repellents we were most grateful for. We had a little trouble finding the house when we arrived, but that was part of the fun! We loved Trullo Patrizia, and thank you Gavin and Rossella for popping by and sharing your insights on the area. There was way too much to see for us only staying for a week so we hope to return in the future. Do not miss the caves and the local weekly market(s) especially the one in Locorotondo which has an abundance of fantastic food.

We are a family of 4 (all adults), who stayed in Trullo Patrizia for 9 nights.

The trullo is amazing. So is the setting and the surroundings. 

We stayed there in a very warm period, so we fully enjoyed the beautiful pool, which is suitable for both adults and children - and is very, very clean.

The location is perfect for exploring the many beautiful towns. All om them are reachable within an hour - so are the lovely beaches.

We will definately recommend Trullo Patrizia - and hopefully we will be back. It was our first visit to Puglia after having explored Italy a few times. This part of Italy is so different compared with the rest.

We had a great week in Trullo Patrizia. We were 6 adults and one of the bedrooms was not suitable for 2 adults. The room was cramped and the bed was worn out. There were also some minor shortcomings in kitchenware and tableware.
Otherwise it was a wonderful place and we would go back, but when we arrive in daylight. We drove with sat nav and arrived in the dark. Then we drove 10 meters next to where we actually went in to mess a lot before we got out. The entrance from the road is unmarked and does not look like a driveway. Should have been a photo of the entrance along with driving instructions.

Trullo Patrizia lived up to our expectations!  The trullo has been restored so authentically without the ugly extensions which we saw in our travels around the area.  The golden stones seem to glow beneath the blue sky.  The peace is restorative. The pool is elegant and inviting, whether for that first swim of the day when the rest of the family are still asleep or, in the evening, with the lights on.  We still regard it as a privilege to have watched the swifts swooping down in formation to sip whilst still on the wing.
We did drag ourselves away from the pool to visit Ostuni, Matera, Martina Franca and Grotte do Castellana.  The highlights of these visits were the cucina povera, the fact that the other holiday makers are generally Italian not British, and the friendliness and welcome we met everywhere.
No review of Trullo Patrizia would be complete without mentioning Pasquale who seems to embody the friendliness, hospitality and generosity of southern Italy.  When he learnt that we loved figs (and those in the garden were not yet ripe), he brought us a bag of figs fresh from his own trees and still warm from the sunshine.  When we asked for recommendations for our last meal of the holiday, he drove home to get the directory of local restaurants so that we had the correct address for Casa Nova in Alberobello.  We had a fabulous meal there!
We didn't manage to fit in a visit to Lecce - an ideal excuse for another stay!

Gill and I enjoyed our week in TP very much - it's a most unique property in a very different part of Italy to those that we both know from previous visits, located well away but not too far from the well-known Alberobello and an excellent base for touring around Puglia and surrounding areas.
The building (and its environs) in general really are something to behold, the only slight thing on the downside was (believe it or not) the weather which was very English!
We thoroughly recommend this holiday with a real difference, if you want to get away from it all for sure.

Lovely location - secluded but near to several towns and wonderful restaurants. There are good supermarkets nearby. The pool is enormous, but if you want the beach, a 30 minute drive will get you there. The facilities at the trullo are excellent and the grounds are beautifully maintained. The local help / advisors for the property were great. They responded quickly to the few problems we had. A wonderful place to stay!

The pictures on this site accurately depicts what you will find when you arrive and the tullo is an amazing structure which has an interesting history.  It has three bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. It is not air conditioned but with the thick stone walls we found it quite comfortable and it was very hot while we were in Alberobello.  Fans were available as well if you needed them.  Of course finding the location is a bit daunting and you do need Daniella ( the property manager ) to meet you in town and take you to the trullo the first time.  She fully explains everything you need to know while staying there.  There is no telephone so you must have a cell phone with you.   It is isolated with views for miles which is really very calming which we enjoyed.  The pool is again, just as shown in the pictures - clean, large and ready for you to enjoy.  There are no gates around the perimeter so if you are traveling with children you would need to keep them in sight.   

There is a television, DVD player and a place to hook up your IPOD.  We used the stone outdoor BBQ for dinner each night as well. There is ample parking and a gate to the property which you can close at any time.  We felt quite safe there but we did lock our doors at night - perhaps that is a habit from back home !  And the trullo is located about 10 minutes from town. It is a picturesque drive along the country roads to your destination. 

We traveled from Canada so we could not bring with us the supplies you need for a housekeeping rental, i.e. coffee, tea, salt, pepper, toilet tissue etc. so you must pick up all you food staples in town.  All the appliances worked well.  We did not have any hot water the first morning so we contacted Daniella and the issue was fixed within a few hours. 
Our thoughts were that there could have been a few more towels provided (we had one hand towel, one bath towel and one face cloth each for a week) as there was no place to wash them.  Each person was also provided with a larger towel for the pool.   In addition the living room furniture really needed to be washed or covered with slip covers as they were stained.  

We are glad we stayed here and lived in a bit of history.  Due to our itinerary we could only stay three nights instead of the full seven but we enjoyed the experience and the views.  Of course the rooster does wake you up early each day - but that is just part of the whole experience !   I would recommend this rental to others thinking of staying in a trullo for a vacation.
