We are a family of 4 first to rent this great little property, one end of large old farm building in large grounds used as campsite with about 10 pitches.  Pool was great, kids really enjoyed it.  Owners live at far end of main building, English couple very helpful and friendly but respect your space and privacy.  Gite is very well done and well equipped.  Very quiet location in a small village, country roads so could cycle past fields of sunflowers.  Nearest town 3km away,  Sauze Vaussais, has bakers, bank, post-office, shops (inc. Spar), Tourist office*   and  a really well stocked Supermarket which also has very cheap fuel diesel 1.26euro/l (cf £1.40 /l UK supermarket.)  Local Tourist office limited hours and unhelpful, but tourist office in nearby Ruffec (20min drive) and Melle (10m drive) very helpful.  Recommend both Ruffec (and nearby river for swimming and kayak hire at Condac).  Melle beautiful town with walks and cycle-path etc. prper market on ?friday.   Also recommend Futurescope cinema based theme park (50min) at Poitiers - stay for the 3D laser show at dusk - book on line  La Rochelle on the coast (1hr30m)  and Cognac (50min).  Overall quiet location if you want to just chill out with lots to do/see in the area but you do need to be prepared to drive but roads excellent and relatively quiet.  Would definitely recommend.

This property is ideal for families who are looking for a quiet retreat without the usual holiday trappings, the property is in a tiny village, the nearest shop is about 2 km away and the nearest beach is about a 20 minute drive.  It is well situated for day trips to Le Mont St Michel and the D-Day landing beaches as well as the lovely beaches of Pirou, Portbail and Carteret.

The house is really spacious with an enormous main bedroom which has a double bed and a fully equipped cot.  There are stair gates for those with toddlers and a high chair available for use.  Washing machine and drier are useful too.  The kitchen is well appointed, the ice machine was put to good use!  Only thing missing is a dishwasher! The living space downstairs is wonderfully spacious too.

The location of this property is ideal for keen cyclists and walkers as there is a safe, fairly flat, wide, all weather cycle path going north and south, just little way from the property.  Our children managed to do about 30 km each day alongside us and it was fun cycling to Perriers to collect our daily provisions from the bakery and supermarket.

We enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this property.

the apartment is comfortable and very clean .There are lots of utensils cuisine.Il is very nice to eat outside and out of both sides of the house.The weather is not hot for a long time, we have unable to enjoy the pool !!! The area is very quiet and very friendly owners.

23rd&#045;29th Oct 2005 Lovely house, fully equipped for every eventuality. Great area for exploring &#038; walking, Castles towns, countryside. Even the weather was kind, although we had plenty of rain it was mostly overnight and the sun shone just about every day, temperature 19&#045;23 almost like summer. Chris, Christine, Richard, Cheryl &#038; the boys. 10th&#045;16th July 2005 We have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here. The house exceeded all our expectations. We were surprised at how much was provided and hope that we have managed to leave the house as we found it. We had a lot of fun exploring the coast of Normandy, everywhere is so beautiful! The Zoo at Champrepus was a great day out. We hope to be able to return one day as there is so much more to see. Thanks for a great holiday, Julie, Tim, Morwenna and Jake Taunton. July August 2005
