Ideally situated for exploring the delights of the Loire valley, this self-catering holiday chateau, coach house and farm cottage are beautifully set in lush and extensive grounds and offer flexible accommodation for between 13 and 26 guests.
Step back in time whilst staying at the glorious 19th century main chateau with its charming interiors and old-world character alongside elegant furnishings and modern comforts. Sleeping up to 13 guests across five attractive bedrooms, each one with an en suite bath or shower room, there is also ample living space across its period living-dining room and wonderful library. There are plenty of original features from tiled floors to exposed wood-work and the newly renovated farmhouse kitchen is a joy for keen cooks wishing to prepare French family feasts.
The estate also features a 4-bedroom coach house and cosy 2-bedroom cottage, each one possible to book alongside the chateau if additional space is needed. Whilst each property is individual in style, size and character, they all offer excellent facilities such as satellite TV with English Freeview channels, well-equipped kitchens, their own al-fresco dining areas and barbecues as well as books, games and toys for all the family.
On-site facilities include a lovely 12m long swimming pool and terrace set within a secured walled garden, shared between guests in the chateau, coach house and cottage (or if you book all three using the 26 person rate then the pool is for your exclusive use). Then there's the games room with a pool table and table tennis, lawns by the orchard for ball games, a badminton set, traditional boules and bikes for a variety of ages. The hospitable owners really do know how to create a fun and welcoming ambience for all !
Wine-lovers will appreciate the location of Chateau De Vigner so close to a small wine-producing village - vineyard visits alongside wine-tastings can of course be arranged. Pop into the specialist wine-shop in Doue-la-Fontaine, about 6km away, for great expertise on this subject matter.
Then there's the many wonderful Farmer's and Brocante markets dotted across the area each morning as well as the grand Loire chateaux that are known across the world, many of which can be reached in under an hour.
Even closer is the gorgeous town of Saumur on the banks of the Loire river, just 26km away, home to the Cadre Noir equestrian school as well as the impressive Chateau de Saumur. Canoe along the river, dine out in one of the many excellent restaurants or simply enjoy a glass of sparkling white in one of the many charming wine-bars.

Chateau De Vigner is in a great location for exploring the Loire valley, set around half an hour south-west of Saumur and close to many excellent local wineries and vineyards.
Walk out of the estate's grounds and there are lots of opportunities for walking, fishing and cycling – turn left and be greeted by fields of summer sunflowers at certain times of year! The local village, under 2km away, is a small wine-producing village and there is a little auberge where you can also pick up fresh morning bread.
Doue-la-Fontaine is around 6km away and this is where you will find a large supermarket as well as a greater choice of restaurants and amenities. Pop into the wine-specialist shop in the centre if you are looking for great recommendations on what to drink during your stay. Of course, wine-tastings and vineyard visits can also be arranged for your time in this region.
Other activities in the area include kayaking along nearby rivers, visiting some of the magnificent Loire chateaux and heading to atmospheric Farmer's markets in places such as Doue-la-Fontaine, Montreuil-Bellay, Cholet, Saumur and Angers amongst many other local villages and towns.
Saumur is an especially lovely market town to visit, well known for its Cadre Noir equestrian school as well as its picturesque setting on the banks of the Loire river. Sample some of its sparkling white wine in a little bar, dine out in an excellent restaurant and take some time to visit the town's fairy-tale like chateau.
The amazing Fontevraud-l'Abbaye is just over half an hour away by car, a UNESCO World Heritage site, whilst even closer are the fascinating troglodyte caves at Rochemenier, only 10km by car.
The pretty riverside town of Chinon and the historic city of Angers are both within an hour or drive 100km east to Tours, an incredible city on the banks of the Loire river with museums, beautiful buildings and close to some of the most famous chateaux such as Villandry and Amboise.
If you are travelling to Chateau De Vigner via Paris, it's around a 3hr drive or the TGV takes 90 minutes from Paris Montparnasse or Charles de Gaule airport train station. If arriving into Angers then the chateau is around a 35-minute drive away and there are car hire options from the train station.
