Chalet overview

Representing the very best in Alpine charm, Chalet La Foret describes itself as an ‘uber luxury' chalet located on the outskirts of sleepy Meribel village. With seven bedrooms and four floors to yourselves, Chalet La Foret has everything you and your group will need to make this a holiday to remember.

Tucked down a quiet side street amongst other privately-owned chalets, Chalet La Foret is a far cry from the hectic ski hotels you may have experienced in the past. This beautiful traditional chalet strikes an impressive figure, built of fine wood and drenched in picture-perfect powdery snow - it's everything you dream of and more when you think of a ski holiday.

Your main entrance is located on the ground floor, leading directly into an inviting entry with a dedicated ski and boot store off to the side. Your main living space is located on this level, comprising of an open plan diner and lounge with comfortable chairs, an L-shaped sofa and a flat-screen TV with access to UK channels and Apple TV. A well-kept library provides plenty of reading materials for your leisure throughout your stay. Large patio doors open up onto a delightful terrace with an outdoor seating area.

To the rear of the room, besides a central roading fireplace is a cosy dining nook where you and your guests can take meals. The kitchen sits separately from the dining space and is well equipped for all your cooking needs. As part of your uber luxury experience, a trained team will prepare meals for you during your stay with a daily breakfast and a four-course dinner six nights a week.

Seven good-sized bedrooms are spread across the upper and lower levels, each with either two twin beds, bunk beds or a king-size bed and a flat-screen TV. There is one bedroom on the lower ground floor, three bedrooms on the second floor and a further three on the top floor. While some bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, not all do meaning that some guests will share bathroom facilities.

The lower ground floor features a great selection of entertainment facilities including a cinema room with a DVD library, a sauna, a gym and a games room with table tennis and table football. Outside a wonderfully relaxing in-ground hot tub is located on a private deck surrounded by junior pine trees.

Throughout your stay at Chalet La Foret, your chalet team will do everything they can to make you feel rested, relaxed and pampered.

Location

Chalet Island is located in its own secluded Orchards, just an 8-10 minute drive from the nearest Olympie telecabine at Les Allues and a 15-20 minute drive to the centre of Meribel.

Meribel is a village with a true alpine heart. You won't find blocks of hotels and purpose-built facilities here. Instead, the compact and lively town centre is picture-postcard perfect, and its atmosphere is quaint and fairytale-like. Meribel offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding for all levels of ability and a huge range of non-skiing activities.

It is without a doubt the most romantic resort in the area and if you're planning a couples holiday in the snow you'll definitely want to take a closer look at Meribel.
At the centre of the world famous Trois Vallees (Three Valleys), Meribel makes up part of the largest ski domain in the world. It has over 150km of pistes, plenty of backcountry and off-piste skiing and snow cannons cover 65% of the ski area.

Across the valleys, it has six sister resorts. You can either get a single-resort lift pass and keep to the fantastic beginner and intermediate terrain there, but you also have the option of purchasing a pass that covers the whole area.

The advanced lift system at Meribel will let you maximise your time on the snow and make sure you're not waiting around in queues. With 67 runs to try out just in the resort itself, there is no time to be wasted. Just beware of the afternoon sun cutting things short on the west-facing slopes and prepare to get up with the sun if you're after untouched powder. At it's highest skiing point Meribel reaches an altitude of 2952 metres and the descent from this point is known to be one of the most scenic runs around.

Aside from the world-class skiing, Meribel is also known to be one of the liveliest resorts in the Three Valleys. Many of its residents and bar-owners (as well as plenty of its visitors) are expat-Brits who certainly know how to party. The apres-ski scene here is truly top-notch!
