Town house overview

In the historic heart of a charming Languedoc village lies Chez Le Vigneron, a delightful home dating back to the 17th Century which has recently been beautifully renovated with style and character.

Previously a Maison de Vigneron, or a wine-growers house, this four-bedroom residence is set out over three floors overlooking a pretty courtyard where you can sip summer cocktails, enjoy leisurely meals al-fresco or dip into the plunge-pool, perfect on long sunny afternoons. Pretty blue shutters, intricately tiled floors and traditional exposed stone walls are just some of the characterful features that perfectly complement elegant furnishings and modern sculpture, creating a chic yet unpretentious ambience.

At the top of the house, light streams through the sky-lights into the grand master bedroom with its own lounge area and en-suite bathroom whilst a sweet narrow balcony leads to two en-suite bedrooms and a cosy lounge on the first floor, where you'll also find an impressive terrace, perfect for a morning coffee or simply relaxing in the sun.

The living room downstairs sets the tone for convivial living and the elegant kitchen features a Smeg stove and Nespresso machine. A further en-suite bedroom can be found in a separate apartment, just across from the courtyard, with its own lounge and kitchen, ideal for those looking for a little more privacy during their stay.

In the morning wander a couple of minutes to one of the village boulangeries to pick up your morning croissants and on a Friday don't miss the small but delightful village market for a wealth of wonderful produce. The historic village is surrounded by vineyards and wine-growers, some within walking distance and others just a short drive where you can enjoy sampling local wine followed by a long lunch in a glorious countryside setting.

It's a ten-minute drive to beautiful Pezenas, filled with fine restaurants, art galleries and antique shops as well as an amazing market on a Saturday morning. You can also reach the coast within half an hour where you can sample freshly caught oysters, take part in a great variety of watersports or enjoy the long stretches of sandy beaches.

There's even more to discover in the hidden gem of Beziers or the cosmopolitan city of Montpellier yet you may just prefer to simply hire a bike or discover a walking trail through the surrounding olive groves and vineyards which make the landscapes of this part of southern France so spectacular.
