We had a wonderful time at Casa Monserate which is a great house with a lovely pool. We loved the view of the palace in the hills too. Antonio is very accommodating and the cleaner is lovely and very efficient. The place is very well kept and comfortable. The only criticism is the dishwasher which is not up to scratch as ,despite prewash rinsing etc, does not wash properly. However, everything else is great and Antonio even brought in 2 new armchairs when one broke. Thank you Antonio for a very good holiday. Penny Mahood

Fabulous house for a group of 4 couples. We thought the house and pool were great for our needs. You certainly need a car to go around the area but the bus to Sintra and train to Lisbon were easy to organise.

Four of us stayed in the property and it was very spacious. We particularly enjoyed the pool area and table tennis table. We would absolutely recommend this to groups of friends and families.

Lovely big property, friendly owners, very clean, always a spot for sun or shade in the large gardens. Lovely swimming pool. Would return.

Very nice view, good swimmingpool, you have to look a little bit for a spot with sun if you enjoy sunbathing. Small little town with a view restaurants that serve proper food in a Portuguese ambiance. If you like more high class diner you can go to Cascais only 10 min drive to good restaurants. Nice location, not much tourism. Excelent place to find peace!

We loved this property and have no negatives except a very minor one which is the pillows are awful, filled with toy stuffing or kapoc! The house was spotless, spacious and really well equipped and the kitchen had everything you would need to cook up a feast - plus a barbecue The pool is lovely though not big and quite deep at the shallow end for children but has lovely un-chlorinated water My only negative about the facilities is the pillows! Awful Kapoc filled - hopefully they can be upgraded! The village is great and has an excellent mini market shop plus a lovely butcher (who speaks perfect English) and several restaurants The owner was lovely, very relaxed and helpful and lives only a few minutes away The sea is a twenty minute walk / few mins drive down a steep hill but the beach there is wonderful and theres a very good cafe on the sea front Almocagene seems to be twenty minutes from everywhere you might want to visit eg Sintra and Cascais and only forty minutes from Lisbon and the airport but once in the house its tempting not to do too much and enjoy the peace and quiet (though sometimes the village dogs did have a barking fest at night!) And the views of the sea and the horizon from the terraces are just amazing

We had a great time in Sintra. Anthony was very kind. The villa had enough room for our group of 10. We used the grill, oven, dishwasher - all worked very good. The rooms were heated by air conditioning, which was fine. The garden looked nice, but we didnt have enough sun to truly enjoy the garden. The location is close to Sintra and Cabo da Roca due to the fact that we rented a car, we could visit the surroundings and went also up to Fatima. We recommend this villa for your Portugal trip, it offers good facilities and is close to the main attractions in the area.

All 10 of us were happy with the villa, the space, the homely touches and the facilities. The bedroom under the main living space is huge and private accessed from outside near the pool. The seperate twin room down the side of the villa perfect for teenagers. Enough space for everyone. Make sure you go in the shed to the side of the drive, there you will find a washing machine and dryer, spare toilet rolls etc. Antonio came a wealth of information, very friendly nothing was too much trouble. My only gripe more wardrobe hanging space please, and more oven shelves and oven trays. Cars are necessary. The walk to Sintra uphill but worth it.
