We had a wonderful stay at the property. Communication with Carla was excellent. To get to the property, you do need a car but there is plenty of parking on site. It is a safe site and so perfect for families. It is set away from touristy areas which was great for us. However, if you want to get to the beach or a city, you will have a 45 minute drive. The pool is lovely and there is plenty of outdoor seating available.

The property is off the beaten track, and has a rustic, Spanish feel. The facilities are excellent, including a huge games room! I wasn’t sure about a pool with a roof but when it’s 35deg with kids I it for hours you are very grateful for the sun protection, but with full adjustable ventilation from the sides. Water very clean btw. TV is Spanish language only but Wi-Fi works well. Site is amazing, really quiet, great views, next to a viaduct and completely fenced and secure which is important for my children. The house is also secure and there is air con in some areas. Host was very attentive & responsive👍

4 bedroom villa to rent in Lanzarote, Spain
We were a family of 4 adults and 4 children, aged between 2 and 13. The villa was a pretty perfect fit for us, spacious and well planned. The pool was extremely popular with the children, and they also made good use of the table football, football goal and table tennis. The BBQ area was excellent and also well used. Importantly the pool area was well sheltered from the wind. Flamingo beach was within easy walking distance. All in all Villa Aurelia was perfect for our family group, and the staff at the Agency were always available and helpful. We would definitely return here.

Travel guide

Villas in Spain

Spain is one of the world's most popular holiday destinations and renting your own villa is the perfect way to get the most from your holiday. With plenty of airports and direct flights, Spain's regions and islands are easily accessible for the UK and most of Europe. With so much to offer, Spain is perfect for relaxing family holidays, stylish getaways in the likes of Ibiza, Majorca or Menorca or even winter sun in the Canary Islands to escape the cold Northern European winters.

Spain is a country of contrasts and it's easy to see why: from the stunning beaches on the Andalucian coastline to the cosmopolitan culture of cities like Barcelona, Madrid and Seville. It's even the perfect destination for winter escapes, with the sun-kissed Canary Islands boasting year-round glorious weather. A holiday rental lets you discover the best of Spain from its vibrant coast to the amazing golf courses, world-class restaurants and beautiful scenery. Spain offers a huge variety of accessible resorts and destinations to suit all budgets and at Clickstay we've thousands of villas ranging from luxurious villas with private pools to family-friendly beachfront villas.

When to go

Spain, with the Balearic and Canary Islands, covers a large area, with a varied climate and diverse landscape. The Canaries, off the north coast of Africa, are famous for their winter sun, enjoying consistent subtropical temperatures, while Spain's most famous ski resorts are only a couple of hours away from Barcelona.

The warmest regions are in the centre and southeastern parts of the Spanish mainland. The Mediterranean costas, from the Costa del Sol in the southwest to the Costa Brava in the northwest, generally have the most pleasant weather. They can be mild in the winter and are not overwhelmingly hot in the summer.

Where to go in Spain

The Canary Islands are located in the wild Atlantic Ocean close to the coast of Africa and are famous for their reliable year-round sunshine, miles of beaches, unique volcanic landscape and convenient proximity to the UK. Tenerife is the biggest of the islands, where you can climb one of the world's largest volcanoes and partake in the world-famous Carnival. Lanzarote is low-key and well-maintained and becoming increasing stylish; here you can journey by camel through Timanfaya National Park's incredible lunar landscape. For golfing holidays, and for excellent shopping, visit Gran Canaria, offering both family-friendly resorts and more lively party destinations. Fuerteventura's white sand beaches benefit from almost constant cooling winds, which also make it an excellent destination for water sports. The islands provide a rugged backdrop to some of Spain's most stunning villas.

Tenerife

Tenerife is one of Spain's most popular villa holiday destinations and it is easy to see why: year-round sunshine, great beaches and a unique volcanic landscape. Perfect for a family beach holiday or enjoying some winter sun!

Gran Canaria

Tempted to rent a villa in Spain? Try Gran Canaria, the third largest island of the Canaries. Cosmopolitan Las Palmas is popular for duty free shopping whilst the unspoiled mountainous interior offers rural adventure.

Lanzarote

Enjoy the winter sun on the golden beaches of Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen. Explore the volcanic scenery of Timanfaya National Park and unlock a world of outdoor activities with your Spanish villa.

Fuerteventura

Rent a villa in Fuerteventura, Spain's second largest Canary Island, to enjoy idyllic sandy beaches and a laid-back lifestyle. Situated on the Atlantic Ocean,100km off the north coast of Africa ensures winter warmth.

The Balearic Islands are located in the middle of the Mediterranean and are renowned for their stylish Spanish villas and lively resorts. Here you can find some of Spain's most stunning scenery and beautiful beaches. Menorca is known for its large uncrowded coast and relaxed atmosphere, and whilst small, offers plenty of holiday activities for all ages. Majorca is the largest of the islands whilst Palma, its capital, is one of Spain's most stylish and historic cities. It has a wide variety of beaches from secluded pebble bays in the north to wide sandy beaches in the south. The lush, mountainous interior of the island is worth exploring too, especially if you are looking for an active cycling or walking holiday. Ibiza is famous as Spain's party capital, and perfect for those who want a lively nightlife scene and chic boutiques. But renting a villa away from the main town opens up a world of charming Spanish villages, sandy coves and pine-clad hillsides.

Majorca

The largest of the Balearic Islands boasting lively coastal resorts, beautiful landscapes and charming villages. Enjoy vibrant culture in the capital Palma. A Spanish villa rental makes a perfect base for a beach holiday.

Ibiza

There's more to the White Isle than its party reputation. Think rustic Spanish villages, family-friendly beach resorts, a delicious cuisine and colourful market stalls. The ultimate destination for a stylish villa holiday in Spain.

Menorca

Menorca is more low-key than Ibiza or Majorca and is famous for its unspoiled landscape, charming towns, wonderful beaches and clear bays. Rent a villa in Menorca for a peaceful Spanish holiday.

The Costa del Sol is scattered with traditional Spanish villas and the coastline of the southern province of Andalusia enjoys fabulous weather. This is one of Spain's most popular beach holiday destinations, with a variety of coastal resorts offering everything from the classic bucket and spade holiday to secluded romantic coves. Move inland and you'll find unspoiled terrain, mountain villages and craggy ravines. Marbella is a good choice for a lively, upmarket Spanish villa with its old town, luxury yachts in upscale Puerto Banus, marina and sandy beaches. The beach-side city of Malaga is stylish and energetic while still retaining its history and culture. Family-friendly resorts such as Benalmadena and Estepona are full of Andalucian charm, with well looked after beaches and lovely marinas. To escape the crowds try pretty hilltop villages such as Mijas with its views over the sea to North Africa or the white washed village of Competa.

Marbella

Rent stylish villas in Marbella, Spain's playground for the rich and famous. With lively bars, restaurants, nightlife and shops this is the perfect place for a sophisticated beach holiday.

Alicante Province

Alicante retains a profoundly Spanish feel thanks to its hilltop castle, chic shops, narrow streets and colourful houses. You're spoilt for choice with our finest villas in Spain on the 200km Costa Blanca coastline.

Alicante is a mountainous province of eastern Spain on the Mediterranean Sea and its "White Coast" is known for miles of beaches, golf courses and family-friendly cultural and entertainment activities. If you are looking for a remote, undiscovered side of Spain then try renting a villa in an unspoilt town like Novelda or Monovar. However if you are looking for excellent beaches, sunshine and a wide range of amusements for all ages then the coast could be your perfect holiday destination. Benidorm is one of Spain's best known of the resorts with plenty of villas to choose from. Its long beach and proximity to theme parks is great for families and for keeping everyone entertained. But there are plenty of other beach resorts to choose from such as the delightful port town of Javea, upmarket Moraira and traditional Denia. Alicante town itself is charming with its hilltop castle, smart shops and authentic Spanish appeal.

The Costa Brava

The Costa Brava in Catalonia is a stretch of coast in the northeast of Spain, winding along the Mediterranean from the border with France at the foothills of the Pyrenees towards the fascinating city of Barcelona. It's home to some of Spain's more upmarket villas with some a natural rugged coastline. For a relaxing beach holiday try Blanes and Lloret de Mar. If you want to holiday with the well-off Spaniards then you might want to rent an apartment in the picturesque fishing resort of Palafrugell. Many of the villages, such as Pals and Begur are charming with narrow cobbled streets, pavement cafes, sleepy plazas and traditional markets.
